I soaked the soil of each one initially before planting the germinated seed. The first one was planted 5/6. It’s 5/15, 9 days ago. I noticed today green mold or moss starting on the surface, which hasn’t dried yet. All I know to do is wait until the surface is dry before watering again, and hope the growth dies off.

hey bluey, what's a punnet? and you say your hardening them in a window, does that mean that the seedlings i'm growing in a pic. window don't need to be hardened b-4 i plant them outside?

Brwnthmb the green algae is a good sign you're overwatering. Might be a sign of needing fans? A solution is a solution of H2O2 and water. Not sure the ratio. Something weakish, maybe 10% H2O2 - 90% water. Spray the green lightly. Do not soak the soil or you will have a mess, and you will kill a lot of beneficials.

yes I think so (overwatered). Today 6/18 has been 12 days. The surface is getting dry, but I wouldn’t say it’s time to water. My initial soaking of the soil must’ve been excessive. The algae is dying back. Hopefully I won’t need the H2O2 but I’ll keep it in mind.
And the fan is a good idea. I have one but hadn’t thought to use it on seedlings.

When you said you “hardened them off†before planting outdoors, does this just mean that you placed the plants outside for a while on successive days, so that they get used to direct sun and wind?

However, it’s such a small amount I figured that 10ml must be for the smallest seed starter trays. I ended up using 20 ml and then I only watered right around the plant stem.
Does anyone have a feel for the correct amount of water to use for this size container?

I'm a self confessed overwaterer, but
2 things I picked up from your last post that I would be careful of is, just because it's dry on the surface it doesn't mean it's dry at the roots, also try NOT to water close to the stem as it can cause stem rot specially at this tender stage. I'm trying hard to go with motto less is best and so far so good.
10 ml - 20 ml every 3 - 4 days in that size pot for those seedlings sounds ok to me as long as your temperature and humidity are in the zone....
