when to stop

I have very flat well trained plants.
Recently switched to 12/12 and continue to tie down even during their growth spurt.
Colas are appearing all over and I am wondering when to let them go...upward.
Every other day I am bending and retying the growth that shoots up. At what point or timeline do I let them go upward?

I kept tying mine down until the big stretch stopped (almost... actually I ran out of lateral space). IIRC, that lasted about 10-12 days. There was little stem growth after that, just the buds growing upward.

Thanks TORIPONY I have plenty of room. I just wasn't sure if the buds needed some vertical stem or not.
We'll say not and keep growin sideways.
