When to harvest for maximum CBD?

I know all about looking at trichs and what to look for when I'm nearly ready to harvest my high THC strains.
Got some high CBD strains coming for the mrs to try. Can you also tell from the trichs when your ladies are at their peak CBD?
 
Hey Oz, I also have a CBD grow going. I have never read anything different about high-CBD strains' trichomes, so I plan to harvest at cloudy. What I have learned about CBD is that if it's a super-low THC strain, it decarbs at a lower temperature. If there's a decent amount of THC in it, it will decarb at the same temperature.

I believe the more Amber you get on your trichomes the more cbn you get. CBD is a product of genetics, you don't get more by waiting to harvest. Obviously you want to harvesti at the proper time though. 10-20 percent amber, 20-40 percent amber........personal preference, but the longer you wait the more of a narcotic effect (relaxed).
 
I don't think he's trying to get "more" CBD from strains that are already high in that cannabinoid. And he's not referring to CBN, either--just triche ripeness for CBD strains...
 
Hey oz, I have been perusing the seedbanks lately and found a strain called DINAMED on the Dinafem site, they have produced a strain low in THC and high CBD.....just in case you needed this type dude:)
 
I got some seeds in the fridg called white princesess?high in cbds look forward to growing as soon as I have room in my veg box.

My partner suffers from periodic pain, not chronic but it can be bad enough she can't move much at times. She used to smoke but eventually high THC stopped agreeing with her mind.
My grandfather is also suffering from Parkinson's and ongoing, increasing back pain.
I'm hoping to grow some nice CBD bud and make some oil and tincture and experiment on the mrs. Then I might try to convince pop to try something and see how it goes. His painkillers from the doctor don't help very much and Australia is way off medical being available.
 
Yeah I know THC degrades into CBN and that THC and CBD content is determined and limited by genetics.
I was just wondering if CBD reaches its peak at the same time as THC, or before or after and, also if the usual harvest indicator for maximum THC is the same for CBD
 
Hey mate, I'll post something about them in the next day or so.
I've got some seeds on the way from Seedsman with some Kings Kush CBD in there, I'll start some of those for outside too and then do one indoors in a few months once summer is over
 
Ok I understand, I am an amateur but have a degree in natural resource management and it only makes sense that the plant needs to "ripen" to max to be at max potency for thc AND cbd. If it needs to be 10 to 20 or 20 to 40 percent amber to be at max for thc ( personal preference ) then it also follows that the plant would be similarly matured and at the same point for cbd. The plant is getting to the point of dieing when we harvest. How much more potent can it be if we wait say two more weeks beyond the max efficacy of that level?
