SOIL When to harvest/flush?

Coolbogge

New member
So we're at week 7 in our 4th grow, and we're not quite sure when to start flushing. We're looking to harvest when the trichomes are cloudy/amber, but we're quite new for the whole looking at trichomes under a microscope. So my question is can you guys see, if these trichomes are clear or cloudy on these pictures. Thanks in advance, sry for any grammar mistakes. :D

IMO Still have some time (weeks) there’s a lot of white pistils there but there is a mix of cloudy and clear going on. I can’t really answer your question about the flush I don’t grow soil but I actually have a question for you…can I see a couple plant pics? I like the colors you have going on there what strain is it?

I agree with Jebidiah completely. May be as many as four weeks until they are ready but most likely in two. Wait until all of the pistils turn brown and curl up. Right now you are about 50/50 clear and cloudy.

Hey man, i'm growing 4 plants, and the 4th plant is a bit different. As you said it looks like the hairs have pistils have curled up and browned, what is your opinion? Should i just harvest the one plant or should i wait it out? Asking a lot to gain more knowledge haha

There is no reason why you have to harvest all of your plants at the same time. Some will naturally ripen sooner than others. Look at the trichomes with a magnifier and harvest when you believe they are ripe (See when to harvest in the above header). If you want to experiment and have two plants of the same strain, you could harvest them at different times and see what you like best.

Another good indicator is to see when the leaves start yellowing all over the plant not just at the bottom (lower leaves do that throughout the grow as the plant gets big). When they start this transition it means the buds are using up all the remaining energy in the plant, meaning harvest time. 2- 4 more weeks I would think. Just make sure you are feeding bloom nutes only at this point.

Those look great!! I see the links and advice shared is all spot on, like OldManGrower said you don’t have to go all at once. If you’re new to this you might try pulling a couple colas a week to dry and cure to see where you prefer your harvest. Also helps get familiar with the drying and curing process.
