When to Harvest Auto Flowers

My simple question is...Do we follow the same rules for harvest on AutoFlowering Strains as we do for photo periods? I have never grown autos and frankly it is a different experience. I was TRICKED (ha-ha got them in the mail by the seed companies mistake) into using them

I am thinking the Clear Trichs, Milky Trichs and Amber Trichs?

I harvest my autos based on the strain - if it's mostly indica, I'll let the trichomes get into the amber 10 - 20% cuz I grow them for our smoke before bed - sativas I grow for me so just a hint of amber and I'll harvest.

Hi Farmall yes I do the same on checking trichs with autos. And I watch the time frame of days from seed in soil to harvest with the autos. Same with the photos give or take a wk from what the supplier states. So far my autos have been WW, Durban poison, sweet tooth, GDP blast and Aurora indica. Have fun!

Thank you both for the information.. these are WW.. . So I am guessing there is a difference on autos versus photos. These are going to 10 weeks from germination and as I said. I did nothing to them and one day TO MY SURPRISE, they're budding.. Not that they are huge but the colas are big and many amber...maybe 30% so I going back in right now to chop them.

I never thought I would do anything with autos but it sure took the worry out of the light timing. They do what they want when they want to. I'll take a few pictures and post them once I get them pulled

Ok, so it’s a false alarm.... I used a very strong 60x loop to examine the trichomes and there must have been SOMETHING reflecting and causing an Amber shadow across the surfaces because during that quick scan, I was ready to cut it up. Of course , I realized that maybe AUTO’s are different and decided to ask.... so, I’m giving them more time. Buds are very nice between 5-8” long and fat with maybe 10-12 big ones on each plant. Gotta say, I’m very impressed with the super soil grow and these lighting strips. Need to do a sided by side against my 315LEC and the real sun
