When to Flush?

Morning Alaska, nice pictures, I looked back at your first pics on 01-02-17 an said at least a month, an today they are alot closer, but still not ready quite yet.Still alot of clear trichs, if she were mine I'd wait until I see a few amber before flushing. Worst thing you can do is harvest to early, it kills potency.

I fish ðŸ in Soldotna every year D.A.A.S ..... small world. Honestly you are confirming my gut feelings... I just need paitance I guess. I also need a bigger grow room, part of the reason im a bit impatient is because I have a plant that needs the space this one is currently occupying. :nah: No matter this is obviously the more valuable plant at this point.
I can’t help but wander if my little 300 watt led is partially to blame for the long flowering time. If I wait another 2 weeks to harvest then that equals an 11 week flower time for this lilttle indica.
Thats obviousley what the plant is telling us it needs so Ill wait as long as need be. I am however wondering if flowering is a weakness to these LEDs.
This plant still has all green leaves too.... and that dosent feel right.

Have you got a microscope or loupe to look at your trichs with.?
I'm pretty sure your Led, might concern you but the hardest ,dense, sticky bud I've grown in a while was under a 300watt GHydro led, it was an autoflower, that I harvested on day 89. Over 6 ozs. dry.
My cousin lives on the Kenai River, works at the golf course,and also takes people fishing for kings,an silver salmon, they also can their own fish.
Your gonna have some killer if you let her grow until you see some amber.

With you're Help I am going to do this the right way... Ill post some more pictures on Saturday or Sunday. We can decide on a week to week basis from here on out.

You and DAAS got it going on. I agree, you've got at least a week to go. But it wouldn't hurt if you started now doing water and molasses, and no nutes.
A couple other thoughts: those flowering times are often based on when the breeders first see pistils developing. In indoor growing, we count from the day we switch the schedule, which is usually about 2-3 weeks before we see pistils.
Therefore, growing indoors usually takes 2-3 weeks longer. Even more if your conditions aren't optimal. But I also have those GH 300w LEDs. I think they are the best available buy for a new grower with a little tent. Not the best light, just a great bargain.

Just posting some current Pics...... The Bud under the microscope is from about halfway up the plant... There is no amber here though the Trich's are milky. I am on Day 75 of flower. I was hoping to harvest in about 1 week so next Saturday. What are you guys thoughts?

Morning AlaskaGreen, are the fish biting ? haha, Nice pictures, it's up to you, do you really need to harvest, ? Or can you wait a little longer? , I know it's hard as hell waiting, ain't it, ? But if you harvest without seeing any amber, your gonna be very disappointed, I can promise you that much. Your looking in the right places too for amber. Hang in there my friend, they are just getting better.

That sounds like a winner, super bad mistake to harvest them early after all that time and effort, Hang in there AlaskaGreen, you will be glad you did !!!

I just got done harvesting my first grow. I had tons of these kinds of questions. DAAS always chimed in saying to wait, I just started smoking my white widow after 2 weeks of cure. It’s good gets me stoned, doesn’t have the “legs†I was hoping for. This grow I’m currently doing in soil I am going to wait until I see the amber and then start the flush, just my experience thus far I’m no expert.

Hey 99, harvesting early is a no,no, in soil wait till you see some amber, then start your molasses flush, if you even do a flush, alot of folks don't flush in soil.
Harvesting early is like you are used to CrownRoyal, an now all you can get is lite beer, sucks very bad, that's why you wait until they get ripe, before harvest. You get the REAL sh-t then.I don't indulge in alcohol. Makes me run off the road to often.

Nicely put, DAAS. I've been harvesting my Death Star in phases. I took about half of her buds over 3 weeks ago, and as I watch the rest of her REALLY get frosty, I kick myself a little. I mean the stuff that I got works, but DAAS is absolutely right. The flavor and potency are like light beer. Even stuff from a week later smells so much stronger in the jar, and the last ounce or so still on the plant are so much frostier than the first 5 that came off.
I don't really wait for it to cure. I start dipping into the stash as soon as it's dry enough to not piss me off trying to get it lit. But I'm definitely going to wait until buds are very very Duuuh-UHHN. Maybe even a little too done cause I don't sleep well.

Hey DK, some people say they like that going fast feeling, I got some of that kind in jars, sativa, that just had a few ambers, I don't believe was ever gonna have alot of amber anyway. But if some of these young growers would let it get done ,right ,one time, they would never harvest early again, I bet, it ain't no comparison, how much more powerful it is when harvested at the right time.

Right? I mean even a really uplifting sativa would need the full complement of time to really mature and give you what she's really got. No? I'm growing my first mostly sativa now, Jack Herer, and I don't really know what to expect.
My first grow was a Dairy Queen (60% sativa dominant, or so they say), and she took FOREVER (another downside of our beloved GalaxyHydro300), and she didn't really turn amber at all. Maybe if I gave her another month...

Hey Dingus, your right some sativas don't turn amber, that much, you have to stay up on how much they are drinking, an even have to go by the pistils sometimes.
