When to Flush?

Ok fellas.... These seed were GDP ordered from MSNL.

12/12 for this plant began on 11/20 and today is 1/2 so today is day # 43...... so we are on week 6.
There is some conflicting Information on the MSNL website where I read (their) version of GDP flower from8-9 weeks and on the right hand side of the same webpage (another bit of information say 10-12 weeks).

I have read the original GDP was a 8-9 week flower...... Im not sure if these are original GDP or rather their own propriety version of it.....

I have included some pics of this plant and flowers on the Top, Middle and bottom of plant....

Hopefully you guys can give me some advise on when to start my flush.....

Are you talking about your final flush Alaska Green, ? You can't go by what the seed banks tell you, there's are grown in perfect conditions, the ones we grow are not. You have got a long ways to go yet, easily another month,.You need to get a loupe so you can check out the trichs . Nice plant though.

2-3 weeks before harvest I stop feeding my plant just give them water. Thus eliminating flushing.

Yes I was speaking of my final flush..... I Had a feeling it would be another few weeks.
This is my first grow and I didn't want to screw up the timing of my flushing. It is starting to appear, That this particular strain will most likely be a 10 week flower strain in my setup.

I am flowering under a Kind LED L300..(I am in a 18" x 36" Space).. My plants are in soil for now (These buds seem to be taken awhile to fill out).. I appreciate you taking the time and answering my post .
I thought I was on the right track And you're input certainly reinforces my decision to keep feeding for at least 1 more week prior to beginning a 2 week flushing period.

if worse come to worse I can simply flush an additional week waiting on the buds to be perfect.

You Are Assuming That I am experienced enough to know when i am actually 2 weeks from harvest. I am hesitant to begin my flush in fear that it would be to early yet.... Just looking at the plant I get this gnawing feeling that I need to keep feeding them for another week and let the buds pack on some more weight before I start flushing... after that I can just feed plain water and see how it goes for the next 2 weeks and what condition the buds are in.... I might be able to force a 3 week flush before harvest if necessary.... at week 10 of flower this baby is coming down.

Not to worry even if you "flush" to early - consider this - some folks only use water no nutrient's except great white and a good "tea" - some just water thru grow - it basicly comes down to Genetic's !!!!

Check what the breeder recommends. If it says 8-9 weeks for harvest. Stop feeding them at week 7.

I'm going to hope you just mean "when do I stop feeding?" Cause flushing is a rather ridiculous practice.
Beautiful plants. I see plenty of healthy, well managed leaves that the plant will start to cannabilize herself when the time for ripening is near. I don't see over fertilization either so good job there. Cut nutes in half, or just use a light dose of a PK booster right now. You could just use plain water from here on out. You are well beyond the point in time to need all green leaves. Senescence is when plants change colors in the fall and leaves drop. That's when acorns and walnut trees and others are fully ripening, similar to cannabis timing. if you have half orange/ half white pistils and no sign of leaf yellowing I think it's safe to drop the nute regimen.

Yes... By flush I simply intend on stopping the addition of Nutes.... I will simply continue to water every other day with plain PH adjusted water.

I always check the PPM I'm putting in and also check the ppm of the run off as well....Right now I water every other day ----on a schedule of feed water, water, feed. My run off on a feed is approx. 950-1100 ppm's, and its about 350-450 before I feed again (Roughly a week) . Thus with a 2 week flush I'm betting my run off will be on 0-200 ppm in about 10 days.

I defiantly get the jest of what your putting down..... If I stop nutes now, then the plant will just feed on the leaves for the next 3 weeks and flushing will be a non issue.

I had actually been wandering why my leaves were still so green..... since everyone is fairly sure I'm far enough along and Ill be safe with no feeding for 3 weeks..... Well Then, Ill just water from here on out.

No reason to overcomplicate things. Thank you guys very much for you're guidance.

Drop as in lower the nutes. I don't mean drop them off to zero and just plain water here. Usually my top colas are ready to "smoke" now and the lower nugs still have some white and that's when I'm done with everything. There are circumstances when by this point you would want to begin to be thoroughly "used up" for nutes and ready to be dry for soil and perhaps even some final darkness, if any. That's difficult to make all happen on time when the plant slows down its uptake at the end. I get 100% humidity outside18hrs-24hrs a day here on the coast. It can be difficult for me to get all things accomplished in just 2 weeks!

So you think I should feed for another week or so DAAS ? Maybe I will continue to feed one more week then post new pics so we can reevaluate at that time.

I wish I could read the pistils..... but this is my first grow and I’m relying on the experience of others to help me along. Maybe I’ll have a better baseline after the learning curve of this grow....

It has been a pretty uneventful grow so far really... I just hope that continues

Morning Alaska Green, yes keep feeding your plant, the last 2-3 weeks is when your buds get large, so don't stop feeding now, you still have over a month left. Your pistils will change colors an start to recede back into the bud. When they are close to harvest.
Keep doing whatever you been doing, an have some patience, its not that long a wait for something special. Like what you got.

Alaska, you obviously know how to grow weed. That is evident from your pictures. So to harvest at the best time is pretty easy if you are aware of some clues.
1st, Check the harvest window that the breeder recommends. It is usually pretty close.
2nd. when your pistalls are starting to turn in on itself, then start checking your trichomes. You need a jewlers loop for that with a magnification of at least x50
3rd now this is a personal preference. For me, I like my trichomes to be 80% milky, 20% clear with just a few amber. You may like your trikes to be more cloudy less clear.
That is something you find out when you get more into growing.
The point I'm trying to make is. This process happens every grow. You don't have to hope or wish that this grow will be good or not. You can literally control the type of high you want simply by either letting your plants flower longer if you want a couch lock high or harvest them sooner if you want a speedy kind of high. You usually have about a week for the plant to be in its prime. I hope I'm not ranting here and this info helps.

Hey KK, I hear ya, I normally grow in organic soil an never flush, this time I got 5 autos in coco though, an using nutreints but I still ain't worried bout no flush, cause they get flushed all the time.. What I don't get is harvesting early. I don't go by the seed banks telling me when to harvest.

Thanks for the kind words king.... I used to garden with my mom as a kid. I’m not a complete stranger to growing things, however I have never grown Cannabis nor known anyone who has (at least nobody that would publicaly admit to it).
Now that it’s legal and borderline mainstream here in Alaska that will hopefully change.
In the meantime for at least the first couple of grows I will be asking lots of questions. I certainly appreciate your guidance.
