HELP! When should I give light to my seedling?

A few days ago I germinated a seed and planted it one the ground. Now it finally appeared but still semi encased in the seed shell without visible cotyledons.

Should I start giving it light now?

Yes. I usually give mine light as soon as it's in the soil.

Yes ! The light helps create growth energy which can help to eject the shell. If it fails to fall off, nudge it along using a tweezers but use caution as you could damage the plant
