When it rains, what do you do?

It's not likely to rain much here during the summer and most likely we'll get maybe 1 or 2 times of some showers until October so my question is, I have a BD clone that I just transplanted and it's about 8" tall right now and of course on a strict water diet but if it rains, should I leave it out or cover it? I'm guessing covering it but then I could be wrong?
 
Well yes in flower i stick them under a ez up canopy or i take them into green house and will super crop/ bend the branches so they'll fit. These things we take into consideration for us rec. growers in Oregon, rain is murder on buds.

I leave mine out during veg and they seem to love it as long as they have ample drainage. During flower and bud they really should be protected. Broken branches can result when those buds get soaked.
 
For now I am still old school, they stay out in the rain (I cant move them), I plan around it as best I can.
 
In the PNW you gotta be as prepared when you're flowering!

That's a great question. I guess it would require a little sleuthing. I don't have a camera on my microscope but if someone does it would cool to take a picture of a trichome encrusted bud before being hit with some water spray and after, then compare the 2 shots to see if there's any significant loss.
 
The general thought is no it does not, however IMHO it does affect taste and aroma if harvested to soon after a rain. I tried this last year, I harvested part of a Rusty Glue between rains, and the rest after setting in sunshine for a few days. The result was the rainy day bud has a darker colour, the affects are the same on both.
 
Holy down pour what a friggin wash out yesterday afternoon. It was pounding buckets at our place. Friggin corn & tomats are drownded. Damn enough already :(
