What's wrong with my seedling?

Hello everybody,

This is my first grow and I'm already running into some issues.

My seedlings are at the end of their 3rd week and I'm starting to get some leaf curling (downwards) in the middle of the leaf, and some yellow\brown spots also.
After looking online it looks like it might be due to overwatering them, but also could be a calcium or magnesium deficiency. It also looks like it could be due to wind burn from the fan blowing on the plant too much? At the moment I am waiting for an oscillating fan to replace the static one, and have move my current fan to not blow directly on the plant.

As I'm not sure what the issue is I don't want to supplement with calmag if it's already overwatered, and don't want to wait if it does need calmag.


I'm using water PH'd to 6.2 with no added nutrients at the moment based on other growers experience with the compost I'm using.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My setup is:

Zambeza seeds Northern lights xl autoflower
Mars hydro ts1000
18 hour light schedule
B&Q Verve multipurpose compost.

I can't tell if that is soil or coco. If it is soil your ph is too low! You want to be at about 6.8 if you're in coco I like to have my ph at 6.5 to 6.7 . If you are in soil you look a little dry, if in coco you are WAY dry. I just went back and saw your in soil. Overall your plants look good I would lower the light slowly, because your plants are stretching toward your light. I don't know anything about your compost but I would definitely recommend cal mag being added to your water. You are going to do great just get the ph up a bit in my opinion!
 
Becareful with soil adding nutriants i in uk same as u and find it hard finding soil without loads of added nutriants does it say 4to5 weeks of feed in it also i would add calmag plus turn your fan to face side of tent still move air hope it helps mate

It's good to hear that they're looking good otherwise.

It's just the top layer that is dry, it's still moist from about 1cm down. I'll try lowering my lights a little in the morning. The compost has approximately 6 week's worth of nutrients in it already but I was going to start using low doses of micro/grow/bloom from week 5. I'll up my pH a little too. I'm working near a grow store tomorrow so can grab some cal mag.

I'll build up around the stem too.

Thanks mate. I did a little research on the soil and it had pretty good feedback from UK growers, it needed a good sift to remove all the plastic pellets and crap though. The reviews also said it has about 6 week's of nutrients in the soil already, so I'll start using a weak solution around week 5.
 
Im in UK im using plant magic+ soil my plant seems to love it I got it from london grow it was £24 for 50L they sell it on amazon for nearly £50 which takes the piss
 
I never really put a lot of trust in soil that says it has a certain amount of weeks of nutrients (imo) . I would start a low dose of base nutrients and just keep an eye on your plants. Definitely cal mag. You made a smart decision to use cloth pots, it makes a big difference! Cheers my friend!
 
its a nightmare my pots are 22litres almost 6gallon if i pay that for soil perlite nearly £100 for 6 plants thinking about hydroponics its a big outlay at first take me ages to save but will save in long run what size pots are u to useing
 
I'm in 3 gallon pots at the moment, I have some five gallon ones too. Perlite is pretty expensive. B&Q DO 10l for £8.90.
 
i got my perlite off ebay think 20litres for £11 i have to check let u know vermiculite is probably better it holds more water so monty don said haha
