What's the best easy method of making cannaoil?

Interesting recipe very involved compared to what I have been doing. I would like to know what the lecithin does and why to freeze it. I have been using GWE recipe and the results have been weak. Last time I used 14 grams and made16 caps. It took 6 caps to get good buzz. So, I think I could use a new recipe.
 
I use nothing but oil. So I make it a lot. The math is the main thing in getting what you want.
lets say you have bud that's 15% that's 150 mg thc per gram. So an ounce is 4200 mg thc .
now you mix that into 1 cup of oil or 8 ounces. That gives you 525 mg per ounce of oil. There are 30 droppers in an ounce. So each dropper full will have 17.5 mg of thc.
So if you use 2 cups oil 8.75 per dropper full. That's not exact but it's close.
decarboxylation is also where you either make it good or great. I have a machine that does that 200 bucks well,spent.
heres my method , it can make tincture too ala master wu
decarb , however works for you
crock pot with 2 inches of water on high
put ground decarbed flower in ball canning jar and add coconut oil and Lecathin .Buy fractionated oil it stays liquid and sunflower Lecathin powder.
put in crock pot with lid on but not screwed down so it can breath
45 minutes to an hour
strain it and go.
everyone has a different way and that's great , experiment and you will find your own groove.
the low heat helps the medium chain lipid bond to the thc, the lecithin helps your body absorb the molecule with both.

good info. What does the machine do for decarb that the oven does not. Sounds like that could be the step I need to do better.
 
Ovens are not very good at keeping temp even. Like when your cake is lopsided. This is a chamber with a micro controller , you put whole nugs in , then grind so your not loosing any trichomes before conversion. The other thing is it's push a button and walk away. I've taken a nice little popcorn and put it under my tongue after decarb and besides super cotton mouth, wow! . Also less taste in edibles. Enjoy hope it helps
 
According to your formula. I should be getting about 150mg. per cap but from the effects I get from one I would say I am getting about 5mg. per cap. I must be doing something wrong. I have not used lecithin and use oven.
 
I have that sometimes too. I find decarb really got things cookin. Also its very strain specific for me. I just made some Bruce banner and thought I used mushrooms.😀 sky walker og and just a nice easy ride.

And the craziest thing is for quickest delivery, the other end is quickest😀 there's actually a few companies making them now. I've not tried that , butt it makes scientific sense.
 
Mg is how thc is measured so if your cannabis is 15% thc then a gram would have 150 mg thc. But that's assuming you can extract all the thc. It's also how much waste you want. Freezing works buts lots of waste. Without lab equipment it's just a little hit and miss. I have stuff that's half a dropper for liftoff and the. Other that is full dropper. So many reason , age storage etc. but I will have to say decarboxylation is the main thing people miss. There is so much misinformation . It's science nothing else. After that it's a lot art and doing a lot. Yippeee and tasting a lot yipeeee. Oh this is that half dropper . Hope it helps , I was lost about it for sooooo long, then went into the science end of it and stepped into my lab coat and found a few ways I enjoy. So sometimes it machines and sometimes by hand. For consistency buy a decarb machine for 200 and a mbm for 175 or so and you can adjust your recipes until you like it. I love mine and make all kinds of stuff butters and even some rs oil now and again. Made a great garlic infused olive oil with blue heron. What a balsamic vinegarette it makes.have fun and enjoy cause that's why we do it. Bless
 
I know how thc is measured and all that, but I'm using just trim and I know there's no for sure way to find out my thc without buying a kit and testing it, but it's all sugar leaves and shake so im going to assume 8% thc, this is my first time making cannaoil so I'm not going to jump straight to a $200 decarber. Can I successfully decarb in a convectional toaster oven?
 
Sure you can. Lots of ways grind it put it on a cookie sheet and then read up and use whatever you like. I find 325 for 4 minutes in the oven but like baking altitude and your oven all have effects. When it starts smelling pull it.
Not trying to get you to buy anything I still use frozen water bottles instead of a chiller so go figure, grind a little and try it small amounts work the same as large. Have fun.
