what to do with two plants

Have 12 plants in my bigger grow tent , first time grow and plants at different stages for a variety of reason . One is starting to flower I believe and I should have the the led light flipped to vegetative , the other bigger plant is a ways behind . Do I wait for the other plant to catch up ?

What light schedule are you on. Unless you flipped to 12/12 you should not have a flowering plant. Unless you have autos. If so any light schedule works basically theyll flower in anything. If you have photos and are on a veg light cycle you just must be showing presex on a more mature plant. Neither will flower until switched to 12/12.

I have two Viperspectra's , 900 and a 450 watt in a 4 x 8 ft grow tent , 20 hrs on 4 hrs off . It's our first grow, so some cheaper seeds that were supposed to be all feminized . We have some shorter clones in there ( from the same plants ) that appear to farther along than they should be also .

Thats normal. Not all plants grow the same same strain or not. No matter what a plant will not fully flower until being given atleast 12 hours of darkness. You are fine to go on as you are until you're ready to flower yourself.

That is unless somehow you got an auto by mistake.

They were cheap seeds as it was our first grow so I'm sure they were a mix of things including one male plant . Our next grow came from a reputable source and we have things sized to max out our grow tent with all being close in there growth stage ( hopefully ) .

If you have one flowering with a 20/4 light schedule (that's what I understand is happening) then that is an auto and you won't want to change the light schedule. Then you should leave the light in 20/4 and set your other plants back to your next cycle. If you cloned an auto plant, it will just continue to flower and nit revert to veg. Having an auto with photoperiod plants only works well if you plan on vegging the photos for as long as it takes the autos to grow out. In that case, you should probably start training the ones that aren't flowering. They'll over grow your tent quick vertically if you don't.
you could also cull the auto if you don't want to veg the photos out that long. Since one is flowering, you should also flip the "bloom" switch on your light if you intend to finish the auto instead of culling it.

Thinking of trying to block out a small area in my 4 x 8 tent and flip the switch to flowering , but... not easy to do to seal off all the light ? Any simple tricks or ideas ?

Why seal it off to flip a switch? You can run those full spectrum the entire grow. I don't even know why they give the option of 2 switches other than it makes us feel like we have options.

I agree with Wally here.Give em all you got,and unless there is a reason you're at 20-4 just leave the lights on em 24 seven and start lashing em down.

Little confused here ... I was doing 20 on 4 hours off for the vegetative phase and thought I was suppose to turn flowering ( bloom ) on and go to 12 hrs on 12 hrs darkness ?

I have plants at various stages do to clones and a few seeds we planted late , so our first grow was just a mix of things in the learning process .

You have a really unique situation here and I haven't seen anyone with a similar issue as you.
You obviously (if your lights have been on a 20/4 schedule and you have plants flowering under that schedule) have auto flowering plants. You don't have to turn the lights to 12/12 with autos and it's recommend to keep the 20/4 schedule for them. Since the others are not flowering under the 20/4 schedule, I would assume those are photoperiod strains. Photoperiod plants need the lights turned to 12/12 to flower, auto flowering strains will flower under 20/4.
The bloom and veg buttons are irrelevant and personally I would run both switches on any time the lights are on.
You can run all of the plants together no matter what stage they are in. You can flower a clone or seed from the day it sprouts a root.
The problem you have with the auto strains in the same tent as the photoperiod strains is that if you turn the lights to 12/12, your auto flower strains won't get the
proper amount of light and it will significantly reduce your yield for the auto flower plants.

There is a difference in flowering and presex. Not all plants of the same strain will show at the same time.

If you are on a 20/4 light schedule you are showing presex. They WILL NOT flower without them being switched. Keep doing what you are doing. Until you want to switch them.

If some how you did get an auto keep doing what you are doing.. Maybe give it flowering nutes instead. Let it grow your lights for veg will not mess it up.

My money is on presex and not flowering though.

It seems everyone is over thinking this its very simple.

From doing much research once an auto has begun to flower it actually really doesnt matter if it gets 20/4 anymore. All the energy is put into flowering anyway. Extra light is for actual growth. Research shows just about the same yield when you switch to 12/12 after flowering starts with an auto.

That plant is flowering, i never zoomed in on the 3rd pic.... Its got to be an auto. It grew exactly like an auto does. Look at the shape and size when flowering started.

What I would do is keep your lights on 20/4 for your veg plant until you want to switch the schedule.

The plant that is flowering start feeding it bloom nutes but do nothing else with it. It will finish when it does now, no matter what light. You are just going to have 2 harvests one early and 1 late.

When I ordered they were to be Northern lights and all feminized with some free seeds thrown in , so hard to say exactly what they may be . One of the clones in the pic is about a foot tall and appears as if its getting ready to flower . As you can see from one of the pics I have plants in the big tent that are a wide variety of height and growing stage . One of the real small one's I could put with my new seedlings. .

So , the consensus is just leave in the vegetative , 20 hrs on 4 off until a few of the others catch up and then go 12 on 12 off ? Thanks for all the help !

Did you just plant the northern light seeds? Or did you plant those and the freebies? I suspect you cloned both strains.. Did you label your plants, which I can see you did a good job. What was the freebie strain?

You must have gotten autos somehow...

Any auto will continue to flower, clones as well. There is no going back. Switch any flowering plant to bloom nutes. Keep feeding your vegging plant veg nutes.

Switch lights when you are ready to. They wont interrupt the autos at all.

That sounds like a plan. I run a lanky tall sativa landrace and another lanky sativa dominant thc bomb pheno with short compact mazar, sour diesel, and an indica dominant thc bomb all together. I put my taller lady's around the outside edge of the tent and the shorter ones in the middle so the tall ones don't block light for the smaller ones.
