What species is this?

Hello everyone! This is my first grow and it is coming along nicely. The only issue is that I have no idea what strain this is. The seed was a gift from a friend that got it in a bag. Here are some pics. Going into week 4 of flower now.

I understand. Just hoped that maybe someone could maybe guess. It's a shame not knowing the type of bud it is. It came out great and I have a few clones vegging right now.

I can't tell u what strain it is but I can tell u that u have 2different plant types on the 1st picture on the left u have a indica hybrid mainly indica and on the middle and the right u have sativas mainly maybe a hybrid but I would be atleast 70percent sativa roughly. As far as the actual strain there's really no way of telling over pictures

Been trying to find out what my bagseeds are, and what i've learned is that the majority of strains these days are hybrids, a mix of sativa and indica. You are well into the flowering stage by now, how much have they streched? Indicas normaly doubles in hight while sativas can tripple. Indica leaves are fatter and the plants are generaly more bushy with denser buds while sativas got thinner and longer leaves and longer less dens colas. Please correct me if I'm wrong. There's also the aspect of odor but haven't wrapped my head around that yet. I'll add a week old picture of mine, they are long and strechy with skinny leavs and streched 3 times so I guess they're a sativa dominan strain.

On the left the leafs are wider but not complely wide which tells me it's a hybrid of indica domanant. And the other ones the leaves are very skinny but it seemed like some were a bit wider which tells me it might be a hybrid as well but because of the skinnyness it's mainly a sativa

Smoked 3 joints and forgot several times what i was doing while writing this and now i see others have replyed haha

You are completly right :) as far as smell, yes indicas and sativas have a different smell but to be honest it's hard to tell just because there's so many hybrids nowa days that through breeding so many things can be changed

Beautiful girls :) I would say yes there a high sativa but I also think there a hybrid of a small amount of indica some of ur bottom left side leaves are a bit wider than some of the other leaves but yes u are correct it's a high percentage of sativa that's why the 3times strech as well :)

Thanks Tyler :) All seeds are from same bag of weed, so it's different pheno types? It also looks like parts of same plant show different types of leafs but haven't stumbled upon any information about that yet

It's actually from the same plant. I can load up some more pics if you want to see her? I am completely new and have beginners luck. I used this site like a bible and it paid off big time. I really can't thank you all enough.

When I switched her over to 12/12 and to a hps she streched maybe 8 inches or so almost right away. I ended up switching her over to a more powerful light 300w to reduce the temp. Had heat issues for a bit.

8in doesn't say much about the ratio of strech when we don't know the pre 12-12 height. Your girls look realy happy!

Ur welcome man :) if u notice different color hairs or colors that stand out its an enhanced pheno type. I can't tell u for sure if a pheno wil give u different leaves because I personaly have never seen that but I would say there hybrids and even tho there from the same seed batch doesn't mean they will have all the same caracteristics. A good reference is I have 2 candy canes growing from the same batch and they grew in the same enviroment one plant is 51inchs tall and very skinny were the other seed is like 25inchs tall and bushy as fuck lol. Even tho seeds come from the same bunch each seed takes a little bit different DNA even tho it's the same genetics (candy cane from the same plant) so this could be the reason one of ur plants has some thicker leaves they all could be hybrids and just that one plant got a stronger gene of indica than the others. Just a thought

Ahh, let me see if i ounderstand you right; the phenotypes are expressions of genetics and like all siblings that aren't one-egged-twins the genetics varies? By the way, is the Candy Cane a less than average stabilized strain or can such variations periodicly just happend?
