What say you, oh wise sages of the Ganja Den?

I would have to see the par or lux readings but i doubt it. Think about it this way. We were meant to stare into the screen with our eyes so the light is probably not intense enough to grow. I think the film used would block and diffuse too much light for it to be effective as a growing light. Cool idea for ambient daylight replacement but not sure if it would be effective for growing. Maybe some supplemental lighting, but again the film used to as he said "make it look far away" may make it unsuitable for growing but i would need to see some numbers to make that call. If you left the film off and used led diodes suitable for growing then sure it could work i suppose.

Stare into a 1000 watt HPS, but not for too long. Gets uncomfortable, but the plants love it. That's the intensity you need for a grow light. Interesting video though for room lighting. My wife would of course go gaga over it being the queen of recycling. She plans on saving the world single handedly.

Oh no trouble from me starramus
I sure the mrs. Gives you plenty of that, just saying there was a time that milk came in a reusable bottle not a petroleum by-product.
