What is trim? Can marijuana leaves be used?

I have looked for answers, and all I've found so far is nothing. I don't have any idea what "trim" is, although it is mentioned frequently. I'm growing, and wondering if the leaves are good for anything. Thank you so much, from a new grower.

Trim is : the excess leaves and other foliage you TRIM away! some call the trim sugar leaf, in any case there's your definition. Hope this clarify's everything up!! :)

Also don't throw the trim away, you can process the trim to remove any medicine from trim!! R.S.O. or dry ice hash...... :)

I save all my leafs and mix together for what ever concentrate im going to make mostly bud butter but the best sugar leaf or trim is gana come from ur plants in there 2nd week and on of flowering and what u trim off your nuggs with all the trichs (sugar)

OK, leaves and trim are NOT the same thing exactly.

Trim is the small leaves and such that are growing out of the actual buds that are not part of the bud itself. These generally have some trichomes on them but not enough to be worth smoking on their own. The trim can be saved to make things like hash or butter etc.

Leaves are just that, they are the leaves on the non-bud portion of the plant, aka fan leaves. These generally do not contain any of the things we are looking for to smoke, but many people do use them to make therapeutic extracts and such.

My trim includes the sugar leave (the small leaves around the buds) and popcorn buds (smallest of the buds that really aren't big enough to bother to dry and cure) - I toss all fan leaves.

depends on how spoiled you are. If all you use are perfectly trimmed eye-candy buds than yea trim non-smokeable. But for us every day folks, I cure my trim by drying it overnite till almost completely dry yet pliable and stored in sealed jars and burped like buds ( if they dry out too much I put a piece of fresh white bread in till moist again) In 3-4 weeks it will stop smelling like leaves and more like bud. And you will catch a good buzz. It can be worth your while......

I guess I'm pretty spoiled. I grow more that I can use or share. I do use the big, pretty fan leaves on occasion. They're a vegetable, aren't they? I toss them into my smoothie sometimes. Or use them as a garnish - they're fun to toss in a salad to see if any one notices. But you'd have to consume too much to get high, and I've got plenty of bud for that but there are so many other health benefits to the Amazing Cannabis Plant. I'm a bit of a health nut and this whole plant does a body good!
