What is this insect

Here is a picture of a insect that i have on my white widow. Can anyone tell me what it is and what harm it is to my plant

Howdy fella1415, I'm not sure, but I think that it is a Thrip, but I could be wrong (will not be the first time, LOL). I had something very similar on my grow before last. I used Azamax directly in the reservoir (10ml in six gallons) and applied it directly on the plants as a foliar spray (as per bottle directions). This did clear up the infestation, and I had no further problems with them.

I'm with tvbfe, I think it's just a gnat. They can be really annoying but won't harm your plants. If it's a thrip it more serious - go to the GWE site and look at the various insects pictured there.
