What Has Your Experience Been With Mars Hydro

I am getting ready to purchase a grow light for my grow. Per Nebula Haze's recommendations on growweedeasy.com I was considering the Mars Hydro TS 3000 LED Grow. I first became concerned when I called starting yesterday morning and my call went immediately to voice mail. The message was, "You have reached the mailbox of please leave a message after the tone." This is the kind of outgoing message for voicemail that a professional business would use.

I left a message yesterday and today and still have not received a call back. I have called a total of 8 times to see if they ever answer their phone and my calls go immediately to voicemail.

Yesterday I began checking the reviews of this light on Amazon starting with the "1" or worst reviews. The major theme was the Mars Hydro had terrible customer service and would frequently fail to address legitimate problems. To be fair these were Amazon.com customer reviews. I know that there are unscrupulous Amazon customers who do things like returning old broken items sometimes not even purchased from Amazon in order to get a refund or replacement with a new item and then to top it off or support their lies leave negative reviews. Amazon will frequently fail to check the condition of returned items, especially when they are carefully placed back into their original box, and will ship them out as new. Yes this knowledge comes from insiders at Amazon. These were only 4% of the reviews and I found similar reviews regarding the Spider Farm lights. I am hoping that these bad reviews are mostly wrong. I like the stats on these lights and the company's 5 year warranty which is great if they honor it.

What I want to know from other members of this forum is what their experience has been with Mars Hydro customer, especially when they have problems.

I haven't dealt with them. My advice on ANY grow light is make sure it's powerful enough for your needs and make sure it has been properly safety inspected and certified with UL, CSA or ETL certifications.
To the best of my knowledge most grow light manufacturers only have the "CE" certification which for all intents & purposes is a self certification only and is not in compliance with most state or federal laws.

Be safe and get a light that has been properly safety tested and certified...some models of ViparSpectra have the proper UL certification.

I’ve been running a tsw2000w & ts3000w for the last 6 months and the only problem I’ve had was with the 2000 where half the unit went out, it was quick fix, as it was only a loose connection in one of the screw terminal fittings, so I didn’t need to contact any one. Besides that, they’ve been running 18/6 the entire time with no other problems.

Thank you dilvish for the information about the ETL certification and for the very useful information about manufacturer certifications, like CE. I was aware that UL and one other certification are preferred. I had not heard of ETL but looked it.

As for fire safety there is a product that is a fire extinguisher ball that one can hang in one's grow room or tent. If a fire were to start the flames would cause the ball to explode dispensing fire extinguisher chemicals throughout the room/tent.

I did check that the TS 3000 LED Grow will put out sufficient quality light within my budget.

I have never had to use customer service but I have this light. Couldn't be happier. A trichome growing machine.

I have 2 TSW2000's not a moments issue with either one, I bought local and the dealer said IF there is a problem THEY handle the warranty with Mars Hydro and I would walk out with a new one.

Phlash, BU2B, Going2fast and Rwise thank you very much for your feedback. I have been using 2 Electric Sky 300 lights but their price tag seems a little high relative to the incrementally larger and/or more potent harvest I get with them. Going2fast those are some very nice and frosty looking buds. Congratulations.

Also I have looked at some of Mars-Hydro's other lights and will probably go with the FC 3000 in large part because their Samsung diodes have a 50,000+ hour life and their focus on commercial use.
