I’ve got a small room, with an attached bathroom. I plan on putting a dehumidifier in the bathroom. But I’m unsure of what to do for hanging the plants. Any suggestions on what I can do?
That's a blank slate, awesome. A simple solution is a clothes line. You can use eye hooks in the ceiling and hang rods from them. You can buy a clothes rack. You can build a frame and hang rods from it. oh, and clothes hangers. I was using clothes pins but now just use a stem to hang the bud upside down on the clothes hangers. 1/2" pvc cut to length works well for the rods. Available at a big box store or a hardware store. Can you control the temps in the dry room?
What Earl said. Plus, you have built in ventilation! Plus-plus, you have circulation coming in under the door when it's shut and the vent fan is on!! I'm getting dab giggly just thinking about it!!!
You basically just want a room you can keep the temperature and humidity both in the 60’s for harvesting. From there I would put a tent inside the room to actually dry your harvest in. That’s how I do it.
Sounds like the temps won’t be a problem. If the dehumidifier will keep up you may have a great place to dry. My guess is you can keep it dark. With that temp range and steady RH you have a good starting point. But how to hang? Have you seen the barrel shaped drying racks? I used one once. I didn’t like the flat buds. Some folks swear by them though.
You do need a little bit of air movement, but almost none is fine. The more air movement you have the faster it will strip moisture from your buds.
I just run a 50ltr(105pint)/day dehumidifier in a room of about 20m²(220ft²) and that's heaps of air movement. If you can see any movement in the buds that's plenty of air movement.
My dry space is the grow tent, closed, no exhaust, no fans. One time I had the exhaust fan on the lowest setting unbeknownst to me, and made crispy critters after about 7 days and before I realized it. If I have RH issues that's controlled in the lung room. I've also dried in the garage because of the amount of bud, again, in a cabinet, closed, no fan. Some pharmers use a fan, I no longer use them.
