What do I do next?

Hi guys. Newbi here. First time grower with this banana kush autoflower. It’s currently 4.5 weeks old from seed and growing nicely. Should I prune the large fan leaves on top to let some light thru or let the autoflower do its thing?

Yes - Yes - those two biggest fan leaves - take them off - but only those two. Watch how fast your plant recovers and if she's alright with the two snips - then you'll find two more to take off cuz those two branches you opened up should be shooting up.

When I do this to my autoflowers I end up taking 4 sets of two leaves with 8 branches extending up to go along with the main cola you'll have 9 at least. But you just have to watch and you'll see when.

This is the way I grow my autoflowers - just let em grow on their own - no topping sometimes LST - but the only training I do is early on by helping those 8 branches you exposed grow away from the main stem with a little pulling. And after they are firmly growing out - number of weeks - you can let the time downs off. And for any time downs I use 10 gauge electrical wire.

Good luck growing!
edit - only take 2 leaves off at a time. She might look funny, but she'll come back.

For someone just learning or likes simplicity I agree with canuck take those leaves off.. get the lower branches some light..

So cut them 2 leaves yesterday and has grown heaps over night. Have 2 more massive leaves now. Should I cut them too?

If you think your plant can handle it - yes - snip off 2 more. Then wait a few days.
I have cut more than 2 leaves at once - plant looks hilarious, but once those branches see the light......
I have to leave my scissors in the cupboard sometimes or I tend to go overboard with them.
