What causes this

This bud died on the inside, The brown is not mold or rot it is brown dead. I think if it had gotten moist it might had got rot. What went wrong. Only one plant that was Indica. Outdoor grow.

Are all the buds on this plant the same way? Is this picture pre-harvest of post-harvest? Maybe you left it go too long before harvest, or left it dry too long.

Post harvest. It did get too dry because I did not care about it. It was this way when I cut it. I cut it because of dead inside and rain was coming. I noticed this weeks before harvest. All buds on plant are like this except popcorn. This has happened to me before with Indica, never Sativa.

I've seen the inside of bud rot and die before on top of a mountain with high moisture before harvest u said no mold just died r u in high altitude and rh
