Ok, so I REALLY did not make the connection(noob) that growing in coco would be a different world than what I've known growing houseplants and vegetables in soil. I've already had 2 plants get root bound very quickly and now my 3 autos that are in 3 gal pots have a few roots coming out of the bottom of their pots. I had read that a 3 gal pot would be fine for them but I realize now that probably didn't apply to coco/hydro nutes. Now what do I do? They are at 3 weeks so they could start to flower soon. Should I transplant them? Should I gently cut just the bottom off the pot off and put another pot of coco under it so they can just continue to grow?
 
It's ok! You're in fabric pots so they're air pruning. This is by design! You can get away with smaller pots in coco. Have faith RRH!
 
It's regular pots but I did poke alotta small holes in the bottom and some on the sides. My next grow will be in fabric pots. So I can keep them in these 3gal pots for the entire time? Do the roots pretty much stop growing after their flowering stretch when they focus on buds?
 
They stop growing when they find air. The tip stops growing but just like a topped plant. The root will grow new tips all over. I use 3 gal pots. And I made a lot of holes all over. Check them out in my granddaddy journal. I used mosquito mesh on the inside of the pot to prevent the soil from falling out
 
Why did I think you were in fabric pots? I'm losing it....

Anyway, you'll still be fine. Like 9FL said, they'll stop growing in the air. It'll probably drive you mad, having little root nubs hanging out of the bottom of your pot. The mesh idea is a good one. Live, Grow, Learn :)

Thanks. Its my first indoor. But even on my outdoors plants I do all those holes in pot and they love it. Much more oxigen. I've had 5 foot plants in those 3 gallons for over 7 months without any problem. Except for having to water webery day. But where I live is 30 C outdoors
