What are these alien pods?

Has anyone noticed from time to time, you might see these white round things stuck to the stem of a fan leaf. I always wondered what exactly what these were. I have gone as far to try and incubate, but nothing happens! I have crushed them and they turn to dust. I have concluded these are no harmful and must be some sort of salt or calcium deposit? What do you think these alien pods are?

Joker -> At first I thought so, but no dice.
St. buds -> These unfortunately are not barnacles.

Please keep in mind I have magnified this object, observed it for weeks, found no signs of life. Just a single pod no legs, mouth, eyes, nothing. Still a mystery!!?

Dang thts crazy I wish I could help but have no idea what else it could be I've never even seen barnacles on a bud plant in real life alot of things depend on whare u live but if it is not damageing your plant I would just wipe it off and not worry to much but still keep an eye on things
