I think that for many of us older folks who started smoking in the 60s and 70s, it is really amazing to watch how the knowledge and technology of cannabis have exploded. I remember smoking leaves back when I was in high school and wondering what the heck I was supposed to feel! Then I remember in college in the 70s smoking some better "sin semilla" that my drug expert friends knew how to get a hold of. It wasn't until 2005 (after not having smoked for quite a long time) that I tried some of the strain-specific, expertly grown Humbolt County "kind bud" that I realized what a revolution had taken place.

And now I'm growing my own!!! Learning how to LST!!!! Recognizing nute burn and trichome milkiness!!!! MIND BLOWING!! I AM EMPOWERED BY THIS!!!!!
 
Love your last post! 😊 I also had some pot experiences in the 60's/70's, but wasn't consuming until last year, when I learned from GWE how to grow. Since then I have been blown away by the cannabis scene now, even with all the illegality still in the US (hopefully change is speeding up!). 🌱 On my 6th grow now, and it just keeps getting more and more fun! So glad you're on your way to playing with this remarkable plant! 🌻🌻
 
I just want to add: I first joined another forum after I got my first seedlings going in my grow box. Over the summer and into the fall, after I had discovered GWE, I quoted it like crazy, directing other newbies to various GWE links to learn what I had learned and put to very good use. Finally, I got scolded in November for mentioning GWE so much; one member thought it was insulting to the forum "experts." And it was funny, cuz other members quoted GWE--not just me. It just got too hostile , big egos, Trump supporters who wanted to build a wall to keep out the liberals, and not just a little misogyny. It was the first forum I ever joined in my life; I was hurt by some of the nasty comments directed at me. I deleted my account.

Then I joined GWE forum, where all y'all are so kind to each other, complimentary and supportive of others' successes, good sense of humor, etc. I feel right at home here, and the vibe is awesome.
 
Hi there, I'm just getting everything in order for my first grow. GWE is my first reference and I will be starting in about 2 weeks. I ordered a 4' X 4' X 7' grow tent and got a 5' X 5' X 7" one, happy me. I will be running a 600W HPS system and have been prepping my basement the past 2 weekends. At 50, I finally decided that I can do this and add the fact that Canada should be legalizing in 2017, I feel pretty safe:)
 
Syncro92, Welcome to the forum and congrats on starting to grow your own!!! I'm on my second grow, in my 60s and having the most fun I've had in years!! It's an amazing thing to watch on a daily basis, and I love tending to my plants.
