My girls are only a couple of days old in rapid riots. For the next few days I plan on keeping them in the humidity dome, the dome is actually fairly dry. I also have a flour light on them 24/7. How often and how much water to give the girls is my question.
 
No more then 1 tablespoon at the time. Just keep them moist not soaking wet. remember the root is tiny, it can't suck up much water.
 
I was about to ask the same question. I start my autos in plugs too but I make sure to stick them in their final container in a few days time before the roots have a chance to reach the bottom of the plugs.

William and Sue all 3 of my babies popped up last night! Well, slow poke is just showing herself but 100% success anyways. Leave it to me to have seeds sprout on the coldest day in nearly a year! I'm gonna be like a mama hen the next few days making sure they're warm and happy.

I'm sure they are. I'm growing in coco tho and don't know anything about transferring from a plug to dwc. I'm probably gonna start a plant or 2 in dwc in a few weeks but it'll be my first time. If it goes well tho I plan to start growing most of my plants that way.
 
I base the dryness of the plugs based on their color. They turn a light brown color with a pebbled texture when dry. When wet, they turn dark brown, like brownie batter. The happy place is somewhere in between.
 
W&S, I started my current grow in rapid rooters, then put the rrs in rockwool in my DWC box. It worked like a charm.
 
I use the Root Riots, which are made by Hydrodynamics, because I prefer not to buy from Gen. Hydroponics anymore since they were bought out by Scotts. As W&S says, they are the same as rapid rooters.
 
I'm a soil grower, so won't advise about what I don't know firsthand.

In soil however, you would want to get the humidity dome off, as soon as the seed breaks through the ground, allowing the seed to dry out and force the taproot to seek nutrients/water down the plug and continue into the medium.
The rapid riot will turn lighter on the top when it gets dry. Having it in the medium (soil) prevents you from overwatering.
Also, you want to get as much light as possible on an auto "out of the gate"- as you have a limited vegtime.
