SOIL Watering tips and amount

Hi GWE Community,

I recently started 4 different FastBuds strains in some rapid rooters. 8/8 have poked their heads out and two had roots coming out the end of the rapid rooter so I move them all to 5 gallon fabric pots with Stepwell Super Soil.

This is my first time growing in soil and I'm very worried i will over or under water, especially when they're so small and fragile.

Does anyone have any tips how to water seedlings? And/or how I can tell how much to water and when? I read the article on GWE which tells about the knuckle test and watering every 3 days. But for a seedling, watering more often. was considering using a syringe but also see folks recommend a spray bottle. I used syringe when it was a seed in rapid rooter and seems to work ok.

Any help is appreciated!

I just dropped a BlueDreamatic this afternoon- I water the burried seed well (soil germinate/grow method) - about 4 oz initially and leave it alone until it pops (2-4 days) -keeping it just moist by covering it with shot glass until I see green-then remove the glass pomptly.

Once the seed is upright-(what your pics show) I add about 1/2 teaspoonful of water at the stem and give it 12-18 hrs "low" light, and let it dry out for a few days.

Going forward- I water the drip line- first time about the same amount (4oz) as the initial watering, increasing the amount as the drip line expands.
It's usually about 7-10 days, above ground before I give it 1 liter.

A good wet/dry cycle is what you are looking for.
 
Sounds good to me - get that little fella shootin up - then work on the roots - make the roots happy and you will have a good grow.
 
Hey Weed Pharma i appreciate the explanation. So basically at this stage I just keep doing the 1/2 table spoon around base of seedling once it looks dry again? They're getting 24 hours of LED 3500k light --- about 7500-11k lumens.
 
From google: drip line, the area defined by the outermost circumference of a tree canopy where water drips from and onto the ground.
