I found a brand called eufy when looking for doorbells and they also offer local storage and WiFi feed. They have smart software so you can program things like what parts of an image trigger the motion sensors and that sort of stuff
UPDATE:
The camera finally arrived after being MIA since last Thursday! I will be installing it this afternoon and should have my feed up this evening. I'm hoping to have a live feed as well as adding time-lapse videos. Below is the camera I bought:
So naturally, I'm having issues with keeping the camera connected to wifi so I guess let's just say it's going to be a while before I have this thing going again. God I hate my luck!
Thanks Farmall for letting me know. I'm working on a solution now. I am trying a program called Blue Iris and I think I can broadcast via YouTube Live with it. I'm waiting for my YouTube Live account to become active tomorrow at this time. Until then, I'm creating time lapse videos. I have it set to take a picture every 30 seconds continuously. Once I have a day's worth of clips (2880 total clips) I plan on taking them, compiling them into a video, then uploading that each day. So basically, my goal is to do daily time lapse videos as well as having a live feed that is viewable any time.
I use blue iris to consolidate my security cameras... works well but not GREAT!.. flexible enough to define areas of target motion, contrast, recording time. For time lapse, I never even tried since the Wyze cam worked so well for me
Here's a picture from a few minutes ago. I have the connection issue fixed. Just have to figure out how to get the feed back on my computer and I should be up and running again.
So the only drawback that I've noticed to this setup is that I have to keep my computer on all the time. That being the case, I will probably try to build a small inexpensive computer that can handle the processing so that I don't have to leave my powerful gaming PC on all the time. I have a garage full of computers that I've built over the years so I'm sure I can put something together. Until then, I'm just going to keep using what I have.
Quick update: Today is nutrient change day and I have to build a frame for my net trellis and move the water chiller so I will be taking the camera offline soon but I should be back up and running by this evening. I will post again once I have the feed back up. The link may be different (not sure, I'm new to YouTube Live) but I will update all of that where needed. I am also going to try to do a time lapse video to see how that goes but I can leave my feed up for that. Until then, happy growing!
