Veg light broken - can I use bloom??

Hi,

This is my first grow indoors, I bought cheap gear just to learn with. One was a 1200w led dual (veg + bloom) grow light. The veg leds have stopped working only 3 weeks into grow cycle. Can I use the bloom leds on 18/6 to get these through veg and into the bloom cycle??

Thanks,

PS i know i should have got more expensive stuff but at the moment I am just learning...

ultimately you are going to need a new/better light. Might as well get one now (I recommend ViparSpectra). you could try adding some CFLS about 4 inches from the plant but if you hav more than one plant you'll need at least 2 per plant.

If it broke after 3 weeks it should have some kind of warranty, assuming you bought it new....most electrical items have at least a 1 year warranty.

Thanks guys, I can return the item via post but I will be left lightness until the replacement arrives.... hmmmmmmmm, tough one, thanks for advice though.

If it is under warranty they should send you the replacement first. I would contact them and explain that you will lose your plants if you send yours first. They don't have to know what type of plants they are.

Yes, but the effect of planting may not be as expected. My suggestion is to replace the growth lamp or find your lamp manufacturer for repair.
