Vacuum Sealing

I was curious as to what benefits/ horror stories people had on this and whether or not it was a useful tool post thorough curing? :)
 
I vacuum sealed 1/4 lbs from the outside grow and it really crushed it together(thought I had Mexican bale weed haha) when I open a bag I open it let it sit for a day then gently break up the bud after that its fine. even though the bag was vacuum sealed the buds still managed to lose a little weight(haven't figured that one out yet ) if you dont mind the extra work they keep ok, when I open a new bag its around 60% dry still and that what you want. this year I think I will buy some 1 gallon glass jars and see if thats better. My friend just said he got a new vacuum sealer that pulses so you can get degrees of vacuum. But isn't the idea of Vacuuming it to remove air. hope this helps good luck
 
I copped some vac. Sealed in mex. last time I went. I made the guy open it,wet as shit but smelled like weed it was cheep so I took a chance,put it out in the mex. sun after breaking it up dried quick less than a day.and smoked alright. Lol
 
Hell of a story.....better than what happens over here....for a start there was sunshine......wish we had some here....end of April and its raining/ snowing....ffs
 
I've always wondered if vacuum sealing is one approach that commercial growers use to get hard nugs. Hard solid nugs are definitely in vogue at the dispensaries here, most of the time you can tell it's just really great really resinous weed but sometimes the nugs look perfect but smoke mediocre at best so it seems unlikely their solidness is from a surfeit of resin.
 
BTB I was told that vacuum gave that impression but you don`t know quality....perhaps just exploring another dark end....what I was curious about was that if I used vacuum, then added a low ongoing heat like you do when dope cookie cooking...whether the potentency could be increased as believed in dope cooking...I will put out asa a question, sod it
 
I guess theoretically the vacuum sealing stops any loss of potency in the storage and then proper decarbing would give you optimal THC conversion but I'm not sure how much difference it would make. Or are you planning to heat the weed while it's in a vacuum -- irradiated weed might be potent :)
 
BTB...crossing this with your other link comment is the area I was musing over....thinking here, heat converts and increases potential potency but with a risk, no air/ min moisture...does it still marrinade and if so how, would the sealed warmed up stuff `cook` without loss in the bag?....it must`ve been tried by others....some searching required....:)
