Using Fox Farm Ocean as a starting point

So in my noobness, a place I call last August, I planted a free seed in ten gallons of cocoa coir and super fed them at time of transplant. I gave them six times the amount of the fox farms trio at transplant. Short story, three ounces of kind Blue Mystic and 8 grams of dab from the sugar leaves.

I can see your point Green, and maybe snake oil wasn't the correct words. I just don't like spending money on stuff I don't I need. I don't think I need it.
 
Thanks for al the replies. Great information. I'm not going to get in the fox farm ocean forest will burn my seedlings. I would problem err on the side of caution and use a different soil in the solo cups. We don't have access, other than online to Fox farm or roots organic soil. We used a soil from our local garden shop called Baccto, so maybe I will just use that again. LOL We went from solo cups to 2 gal buckets thinking they would be big enough for final pot. Became root bound and ended up transferring to 5 gal buckets. Since we did not use any supplements or nutrients, I am assuming the Baccto was good stuff. I only mentions Fox Farm ocean because from reading the forum its seems to be highly recommended and the fox farm trio was a brand I was already considering, so I figured it made sense to stick to the same family.

@veg dude1 , you are right, a soil that I have to make myself is not what I'm looking for, but thanks for the suggestion.

So it does sound like I may be on the right track. I used T5's for veg......love them. I don't know the specifics but we have two 15" square LED's that put out the white, red and blue light. Hubby could probably hook up some cfl's to target special spots. I think though if I can avoid that lovely Christmas tree shape and do more defoliation, that will increase my yield substantially.

There was a thread maybe a month ago, about the pros and cons of the different brands of nutrients. It had something to do with a certain company buying out another company and some of you were going to switch to something else. I assume that was not the Fox Farm trio?

Ok this refreshed my memory. My seedlings were in light warrior and ocean. No burns. I transplanted into straight ocean and presto they7all burned. I am going to build each pot in layers next time the big puck of straight ocean will be at the very bottom.

We shall agree to disagree then.

Just because it's "accepted by weed circles" doesn't make it true. I'm just giving my experience.

I stand and by my statement, FFOF did not burn my seedling.
 
I have to agree with you nugs. Before I used Roots Organics, I used FFOF and my seedlings grew just fine in it.
 
From veg food sorry I put the germinated seeds in the ground on October 28th. I will send you pics tomorrow have a great night. I will put a ruler next to them and if I wouldn't have LSt
 
You must not understand the power of cloning. My mother plant is 9 years old. My own mother plant is going on 12. With cloning it's very easy to be through veg and flower and dried and put in the freezer and 75 days. Same strain last train
