Using cfls combined with led?

I think side lighting is beneficial but I use mh and hps with cfl I dnt see why mixing the led and cfl would hurt hopefully an led grower will comment soon
 
Yes you can!
I use cfl's to manage heat, and it also adds to the total light for yeild consideration, no matter where it's placed.

A new company meizhi I found on amazon. Couldn't afford the mars or kind stuff. Reviews were good, numbers were sound and the price was right. I'm an absolute new grower so its all a learning process. Tell me what you think?

I just got my environment right though so I may take the cfls out and lower my led back but I see a lot of guys switch to led for bloom and use cfls for veg. This is 21 days in coco

Yea u dnt need the cfls with your led and the idea of starting with cfls for veg is that seedlings are more sensitive to light and you start them with a little and add more and more kinda like giving nutrients but when I feel the lower parts of my plants aren't getting enough light I like to point a cfl at them. I'm probably starting to sound like a broken record but everyone has there own growing style you need to find what is comfortable for you and what works for you
 
I think that the only limitations are heat and light energy. I started my indoor odyssey with 60W CFL's and they did a decent job but this was the start of summer and heat was a problem. Enter my current led setup and it does a good job but I did add a few of the cfl's to add interior lighting(this was when I realized that having alot of interior growth wasn't beneficial) and I think that if you can manage the additional btu's from the lamps them let 'er rip.
 
No that's good info. I don't know what I'm doing lol. Just research and experiment. I figured now that my humidity and heat are under control i could just use the led again. Maybe throw a cfl in here or there. So for veg i just use cfl at seedling until its a bit more mature?
 
Well my front bedroom in the two bedroom apt gets like snow temps. I manage it all the bestbi can for 1st grow. With the 23wt 6500k cfls and the led at 21 inches I keep my temp at 80. Lights off and the heater in the room on its around 75. I could take the cfls out now that I learned to control temp I guess. Just thought more light the better but yeah the plants can only take so much I guess at a time
 
My question was is it better to use cfl than led in seed and veg until bloom or is there a point to switch to led or maybe I should just learn my led lol

Yes - many growers use cfl's in veg because they are very inexpensive to run - 550 watt cfl's work great (cost $22.00 each). I would consider using cfl's with any type of lighting and in both veg and flower (flower for sure)
 
The led is very cheap to operate too. I was definitely going to still use the cfls as side lighting with the 2700k k bulbs in bloom. I just moved these and dropped my led to 20 inches above canopy. I think this led works great (especially for such a cheap price) I just wanted some opinions and I am learning my led as I go. I am getting the hint that most people add just saying f the cfls and run just the led. My heat is fine with cfls as side lighting to spice it up and seems to be working. The led is pretty intense if your not carefully I've noticed
 
Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density. The measurement you should be using rather than lumens per watt or whatever else your might use instead.
 
3000-4000k. Preferably 3500k. This will work for veg and bloom. Forget spectrums besides this (although CRI should be 80 or 90 CRI), and focus on achieving as close to 1100-1200 PPFD per square meter as you possibly can. After 1200, plant growth slows and at 1500, photoinhibition can take place. I achieve about 1000-1100 PPFD per square meter using only 241w of COB.
