Use of Fresh Buds in Tinctures and Extracts

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had used fresh (non-cured) buds or trim for oils or tinctures. I'd imagine the chlorophyll would taste pretty bad, but are there any fresh cannabis methods?
 
I onced used some cured but nondecarbed bud added in, in an attempt to boost aroma. Sort of like dry hopping a beer. Worked, kind of.......I agree fresh bud, might bring more flavors than you really want.
 
Live resin uses fresh, frozen flowers that are taken from the grow before they have had the chance to cure and dry.
it is a form of BHO.
 
For the water and ice method fresh weed right from harvest is better. Water content freezes up and resin breaks better. Put the weed in the freezer a few hour prior to the hash making. You will need meshed bags
 
You want the best you have for tincture and kief can always be added to whatever you like. The taste of your tincture let's say with everclear 191 * ICKY- I've add vanilla to one and the best way to take it is under your tongue ....it feels like it will burn a hole straight to your throat.

It's the best I've found (tincture) to smoking a joint it lasts longer is immediate and even the burn goes away and you feel good.
 
Agree that nicely cured bud can make great tinctures. If you do use something as strong as Everclear, I have found that letting much of the alcohol evaporate (after tincture is made) by leaving it in a wide dish in cool dark spot (4 days. maybe more) will leave you with a more potent tincture that doesn't burn as much sublinqually. And a great way to consume as opposed to smoking. 🌿
 
Couldnt agree more with Karlee and rockman . Making tinctures from quality bud is a great way to go. I vape periodically but use alcohol and olive oil extractions almost exclusively. You can put these extractions in almost anything. My favorite is tea. I know this may sound weird but I just mixed some into elk burger to make jerky with. Have no idea how this will work out but its fun to experiment !
 
Canyon can I have a olive oil recipe , do you keep it out of light, I've never thought of this. Side note I'm afraid I'll get the high like canna caps it makes me tired, not under my tongue with tincture it's way different to me. I'd love to know how the jerky is please!
 
Karlee , olive oil extraction is uber easy, which is part of the reason I like it so much. I decarb a gram or two of nice bud and grind it lightly or break it up with my fingers. This doesnt speed apsorbtion, but makes it easier to cover the material with the oil. I then poor 30 - 60 ml (depending on the size of dropper im using) of olive oil over it and put in a dark spot for 4-5 days. Oils dont pick up cannabinoids as fast as alcohol, which is a powerful solvent, so I leave it for several days. Strain into dropper containers with a small funnel and enjoy. If you like the taste of olive oil and the smell of, Not over heated cannabis, you are off to the races. Its very fragrant.. I drop it on my tongue or dab it up with some bread.. Yummy !!!! I have not noticed that the high is any different than alcohol tintures or canna butter.

Jerky is still drying, so will have to report on that later.😉 If you try it let me know how you like it.
 
Thanks Canyon , I feel like I have not used my flower to all it's potential and having this knowledge is making my life nice and calm ... We need a recipe section why not give that jerky recipe a thread and we can post them when we hear of good ones.

Sorry NI16 this isn't highjacking just recipes are good to have when you have lots of flower to play with. You'll see! :love:
 
Well, let me see if it turns out o.k. first. It could end being a flop you know. Ive been known to orchestrate some spectacular failures in th past.😱
 
has anyone ever tried frying or making an oil from fresh bud, decarbing/removing water/extracting all at once?
