It's been a while but here's some new pics...
I've had a few issues and made some new mistakes but all is going okay.
1st my Lil' Princess. She was a freebie Afghani cross.
She's a true short stuff and I don't know if it's something I've done to make her grow so slowly or if it's normal but she has never had a bad leaf on her or shown any signs of anything being wrong.
She's 5 weeks old and maybe 6 inches tall but is growing her 11th node right now! They are so close together it's really difficult to get anything in there to lst her.

This is the GSC. I was super busy working on my new grow room this week and underestimated the flowering stretch and she grew too close to the lights in a half a day. Everywhere the lights were too close she got these ugly brown spots on her leaves and the pistols on a few of those tops turned light brownish. It only affected maybe 10% of them but it still sucks. Lesson learned.
And the last 2 pics are the Dinafem Blue Kush. It has never really grown very well and I'm not sure why and it also stretched close to the lights and affected the new growth some.

Dear Red,

I absolutely love your plants. They all look very healthy and well loved. The two not in flower are doing great....I think the smaller one could seriously use a trimming so you can get in there and the light will be able to get in there..just because there are no buds on them doesn't mean you don't have to be concerned with light getting to bud sites....let the light in red.in cut some fans out and tie down whatever you can get ahold of...both actions will stimulate growth.

I suggest using 12 or 10 gauge coated wire to do your binding and just push into dirt...works great.


Your budding beauties will be just fine....coming along great...congrats...I tried to look down to the bottom of them but can't due to all the leaves....I wonder if the light can get down there...lol

I only give suggestions based on my preference...your plants look great...you are doing a great job with them...be proud!!!

These are the bag seed that have had a chronic wilting issue for a long time now. I had a thread on this like a month ago and have never been able to figure out why they do this. They wilt drastically a few hours before lights out and recover pretty well within a few hours after lights on. 18/6 schedule. I'm about to just put them on 12/12 and see what happens because they've done this since they were about 2wks old and I don't know why. They are around 7 weeks now. It's very frustrating! They've been growing slow for weeks and I hoped they would recover but nope.

Here are those same bag seed plants 7 days ago when I took pics after lst during the middle of the day. They look like this for most of the day...no wilt. ???

Thanks Green. I am seriously behind on my lst and trimming due to spending so much time making a new grow area. I literally had to build a wall to have it but the set up I've been using is causing problems and making my life way more difficult than it should be. I've ended up w/25 40/42 watt cfls in my box and it's just not efficient. It's too crowded, the heat is too hard to manage, and there is no space to do anything. So I decided to do something about it.
I already moved my autos into the new room(still have light leaks to deal with) but already things are soooo much better! My new lights(leds) arrive in 2 days so no more heat or adjusting 25 lights all the time.
I feel pretty good about how I've done so far and the learning has been all good. One thing is for sure, I won't give up. This is a long term thing for me and I will get very good at it.

I find growing in pots and hand watering is easier for the way I like to grow...I like them super low and wide...just is not the same...can't tie down the same...

Green75's comment about low and wide: You are right, it's definitely more of a challenge to LST in a hydroponic grow box like I have. I accept that it will always have those limitations, but I needed stealth and a self-contained, aroma-less unit. I WISH I could look forward to setting up a real grow room, but where I live, legalization is nowhere on the horizon. I like to think of the space limitations I'm working with as the chance to be as creative as possible, keeping all the good rules in mind like air circulation and space between colas, etc.

I will just add that after watching a dude on YouTube drill holes in the side of his pots of soil so he could train, I drilled holes into the sides of my net pots--all the way around them--and that's where I anchor stems. So far, so good!

I haven't given up on the idea of some extensive lst with dwc. I simply love to do it and mess with the plants all the time and I really love the idea of having many top colas too. I was thinking of growing in 5 gal buckets just so i can still move them around easier and lst them easier. I'll rig something up to be able to tie them down.
