update from the other side (journal)

muchos gracias Green. I'll get to 1 or two of the others after re-potting. I just needed a nudge in the right direction - great forum.

love your avatar by the way - it reminds me of my favourite ever Dilbert cartoon which you may know but I hope you may enjoy anyway...

Hey thats looking good man!!Glad to hear you also got the good part of the sun today!!I took by dog bike riding up in the mountain,so warm today!!

String will do just fine as long as you are gentle,so will thin twisty tie if you are gentle again...All they need is our lovin, the rest came along with the years...Trust me good ol Ed Rosenthal didn't have all the shit we say a beginner will need nowadays!!

Why thank you very much Nartak-dude, and thanks for your encouragement - I was going to leave them "wild and free" before.

I'm quite enjoying all this to be honest -the growing it's a buzz and watching them little seedlings grow up and up - it's awesome. The devil is in the detail - what plant training, how to sort the nutrients... oh and twisty ties .

Looking forward to a good harvest and making up some great kick ass RSO - so thanks again for your advice.

Have a great evening!

It is addictive, growing, defoliating, reading about how you will do it...At least speaking for myself,i have no other cause each day but to watch, learn, share here ,smoke, sleep, repeat (yes im enjoying unemployment at the time)!

Yes the devil is in the detail!!Today i only saw how flower production goes bananas right about now (day 15 of flip) and they start popping up all around the stem near the top instead of on nodes!!I don't know if that is because they are reacting to my annihilation technique of snapping all growth off (please don't ask i still whip my self to sleep) and they need to survive, thus creating pollen receptors ;) Great thing also how i just realized, these plants are not forgiving, their will for Thriving and Existing is just so far beyond most damage we can do to them that we almost seem irrelevant at times! They will be there, they always have been...

2,000-800 BCE Bhang (dried cannabis leaves, seeds and stems) is mentioned in the Hindu sacred text Atharvaveda (Science of Charms) as "Sacred Grass", one of the five sacred plants of India. It is used by medicinally and ritually as an offering to Shiva.

Please tell me they had LEDs ;) (While their writings and scriptures depict flying vehicles i doubt the LED part...)

RSO yes,i was thinking of doing the Butane way with all the trimmings since i don't have a presser or something similar (bubble bags etc) so butane for 1.30 a bottle (clean one) and i will have couple grams of trim oil :D

Blessings

evenin' all

quick update- just waiting and waiting really, get them out in the sun when i can, tried some LST on the larger two but suspect they're not getting enough light now - some good weather coming in so fingers crossed..

still trying to fight the nutrient probs with compost teas and burying banana peel... not perfect. Some of the pistills seem to be darkening but the buds are still very small. Got a few more weeks so I hope they're on track more or less.

Tranquilo!

Hi Nartak - saw a great recipe for FECO (full extract cannabis oil) with some clever stuff about freezing the solvent to reduce the amount of chlorophyl that gets through - it's insane how much detail there is in everything...

we're looking after sick relative at the same time so i tend to check on my little bunch once or twice a day - but it's cool as you see more changes that way

its such a great plant - i remember Bill Hicks saying if you think Cannabis is immoral or should be illegal it's like saying God made a mistake, shit i left dope everywhere, now i have to make republicans. Humans have been using it for a loooong time.

I'm totally hooked now - when we go home I'll be hiding a few in amongst my tomatoes :)

Hi GWE,

quick update - they're all putting on more growth and pistills. Can't get rid of the discoloured leaves(as mentioned before I cannot buy any fertiliser so trying to make do with what i can find). Although they're in flowering now could it still be nitrogen dificiency?

Another question - the 2 older ones (darker green leaves and taller) hardly smell at all (I don't know the strain)
but the 2 lemon haze CBD autos smell delicious.

Is it normal to have such a difference between 2 strains esp as the taller ones are older (by a week or so)

Many thanks for any advice/ comments. Have a great day.

:)

Go back to your garden and get some black soil...top dress your pot with it and water it with water that you also soaked in other soil and drain water out of ...like a slurry...pour that on your top dress...

Thanks Green, i'll locate some black soil. What's the diagnosis for them please? Is it more or less all the nutrients?

Thanks a million

They look great..the top dress will aid in adding natural nutrients...May end up having to water them with soaked slurry water for now on...see how the first round goes...

cool,

just poked around the garden and the soil is mostly same as what i'm using, now i'll carry on trying to find what i need but my compost that i started in December is also out there - could i seperate and use the more mature. I've been avoiding using it for fear of pests so far but if i dry it and then soak it that could work?

Thanks again (very much)

by the by thanks for the "they look great" - the sun here is great and anytime I can get them outside I can almost see them growing, 28 degrees today in the sun.

Also, i've been burying banana skins and orange peel before watering to try to keep potassium topped up.

Yes it's the same but it's nutes are not depleated yet...that's why you will have to water with water that's been soaking in a bucket of that soil..

evening all,

just a wee catch up - I've dressed and watered with the best soil i could find.... thanks again Green for the advice. They're all getting bigger and even the small/ later 2 are showing pistills.

However the drama is we're running low on the RSO and need to plan what to do next.

I've got a couple of question about times to harvest (i am a newbie to all this), the smaller 2 (3 photos below) had estimated flower times of 7 weeks, and veg estimate of 3-4 weeks and were planted 2nd week of December.

Following this estimate I was hoping to harvest around the end of Feb then dry and cure as quick as possible. Looking at them they're nowhere near being ready. I guess estimated times from the seller are 1. optimistic and 2. given for optimal growing conditions - which we do not have here, so it'll be a few weeks extra.

So....Oh mighty sages of GWE - how long do you think they have before they might be ready to harvest?

Thank you kindly and wishing you a jolly pleasant day/evening. :)

Yes most breeders advertise their times based on the earliest start of the harvest window which isn't very realistic but then environmental factors also have to be taken into consideration.
