Today is day 12 of my 1st grow. I used bag seed and only 1 plant to start. Hope it's female, if not it's good practice for when my FemAuto seeds arrive I just transplanted from from a solo cup to a 5gal pot. I started off using a 23w soft and a 23w bright cfl. I put pot into my tent under my Vipraspectra 450 on veg.at 27" Looks to me that it has a slight droop. Hope it comes back quickly.
Any comments are welcome.

You put it in a big pot so you should be careful of overwatering. Don't soak the pot and follow the guides. You'll do great.

Morning UncleDoug, looks fine to me, she is just before growing really fast, after she gets used to her new spot.
But you better keep a close eye, on her until you find the SWEETSPOT for your light. Doesn't take much to damage a young plant, just keep a good eye on her, for a few days.

SWEETSPOT - Do you mean height above plant? I have a question, how do you put info on the grow down below the post like you have it?

That is too much light for right now. She was doing great with 46w of light and now you are blasting 400w of led light which is ten times the intensity. Is your light dimmable?
Raise the light to 4 feet above her, or about double what you have it currently.

Not dimmable, maybe I can move my CFL's to the tent until it gets bigger.

Well, your plant could still grow a bit more under only 46w but it's only going to be a 46 watt plant, does that make sense? You want to go from 46 watts to 450 watts in the next 6-8 weeks, peaking at max watts in the middle of Bloom. The last few weeks of bloom you can back off again slightly to ripen with max crystals and scent.

This is a plant size issue, not age. I'm determining the amount of light you need based on total leaf area.
For example:
Right now you only have enough area to utilize 30watts of light. In 10 days, the plant will grow and will have more leaf area to capture more light. Then it might use 40w of light. After another 10 days of rooting it might require 50w of light.
Each week the plant will be able to utilize more and more light.
When your plants are bursting the seams on your tent and outgrowing your space is the only time where 450w will be actually needed by your plants. Now, there's not a whole lot you can do when your plant only needs 150w of light other than raising your big LED high enough so it's not too intense.

You can use your LED right now just keep it high above.

Yes that makes sense. When I checked the tent to move the CFL.s I saw that the plant had perked right back up, so I instead did your suggestion to raise the 450 up. Now the light is about 50" above the plant. I'm going to keep a close eye on it and slowly lower light as it gets bigger. Thank you for your help, I'll keep posting on progress.

2 days after transplanting, have not watered in 1.5 days due to a bit of over watering, droop is gone and looking healthy "I think so anyway". Mt Blue Mystic A/F seeds arrived yesterday:smile: . Have 1 seed germinating and another bag seed germinated and in solo cup, Figured 2 bag seed plants = better chance of female. I was planning on just 1 plant for my 1st grow but some how that changed with the excitement.lol

Your light is switchable. You can turn on just veg. I use the same light with both switches on from seedling and and clones and hasn’t caused a problem. Keep it at least 3’ away when young

Thanks BB, I switched to both on, right now I have the light around 48". Not sure why they have the switches, Ive heard that a lot in other posts about turning both on.

Ya I’m not sure why there are switches lol I can’t bring myself to leave one off ever just seems like missed opportunity or something.

Today I topped Bag Seed #1. Hope for the best, kinda scary chopping a perfectly good plant lol. Any comments or opinions would be appreciated. Not sure about removing the 2 bottom leaves leaving just the top 2 ?

Looking good. It seems risky the first couple times you do it but after a couple you get used to it. Beautiful colour, just let her grow for a week or two now to recover then she will take off
