Trimmed Plant Lifespan

Hi Everybody,
I would like to know if anyone has experience with leaving a plant in its trimmed state. By trimmed state I mean it is ready to be dried once the main stem is cut. It has no fan leaves and no sugar leaves. How long have you left this under light for and what was the result?
The reason why I am asking is because I started trimming my tree but am not sure if I want to leave it for one week. It seems like I just realized I pulled the trigger too quickly on it but I am not sure. I am also outdoors so the weather is going to drop in a few days in my climate zone. Any thoughts on leaving the upper half of the plant with no leaves to get a bit more ripe and bulky?

I have a bit of experience with this scenario. A week out from harvest, I stop watering, and begin trimming every couple of days and dry in the pot. Usually about 8-14 days. Organic soil auto grower.

It will hang around for awhile but you did chop off everything it uses for photosynthesis. Your plant won't die but it might not put on a whole bunch more weight. It will sit tight and recover from the stress as you wait for the trichomes to ripen.,

Thank you for your help! I cut the whole plant down yesterday because it rained a lot, followed by much cooler weather! I appreciate the messages.
