Trim thin out

Hi
I'm brand new to growing. it started when someone convinced me to grow with them they are the experienced one. He is long gone, I've managed to get through vegging stage . I hope yo switch in a week or 2. I have no experience at all. the only knowledge I have is what I've gleaned off you tube and the like. anyway . is it right that I need to trim or thin out my plants begore switching to the budding stage and if so how do I actually perform the trimming or thinning . hope you can help. I am really clueless and would love to see this through to fruition. I've got right into this over the weeks.

You want to trim down your plant so that the light from above can penetrate the lower bud sites more easily.

Post a pic if you can, it always helps when offering advice.

Just took your advice and read through the defolliation tutorial. thanks that's a massive help. one question . do I break the stems off by finger or cut with a scissors or knife ?

I use my thumbnail to sever the leaf stem with my forefinger on the other side.

If you don't do it right you may pull a strip of bark off with the leaf stem.

Takes a little practice. Easy to learn.

Yep Sirius and Nebula have done a great job with the articles. Once you start reading them it becomes addictive and you end up reading the whole site

I use some trimming scissors but like remote controls the scissors are always at the other end of the room when I need them so I do also often use Royal Nugs method of pinching off the leaves. I get my thumb nail right in there and then twist at the end to avoid stripping the bark.

When trimming you don't want to stress it (if you don't have a thumb nail) a small pair of scissors and leave a little stem, let the plant take care of it.

Welcome to our world. If you have never grown before. I highly recommend that you just let the plant grow the way she wants. After you gone through a grow or two. Then you can learn the fine art of trimming. I can pretty much assure you that you will run into problems when you start cutting if you don't know what you are doing. Guarantied
