Tried to train my tallest plant, ended in disaster

I was trying to do the pinch and twist method if supercropping for my tallest plant. It didn't end well with a handful of breaks. Tried to tape them up and hope for the best. What can I do to salvage the situation?

I like painter tape. Those blue or green very soft that you can remove and stick again and again. I just wrap it up like a mommy and when the branches grow they just rip it apart.

Super cropping takes a lot of practice and you gotta know when branches are too stiff or too soft.

Is the plant still able to produce buds? Like it's not going to die in a week because I botched it?
 
I used masking tape and 2 toothpicks or bamboo sticks for support and taped it. if the intention was super cropping, then you can bend it to the desired angle, use the toothpicks and tape it. It will heal as long as the break isn't all the way through and it's only hanging by a thread, then you should be be totally fine.

I have a few branches on my gorilla glue that broke but not all the way so I didn't even tape it. It was still 70% attached so I just let it go. It's perfectly fine. There's like a big lump where it broke but the branch was just fine.
 
It happens sometimes they just crack. It takes a couple minutes to preform the cropping. It's a squeeze, gently bend, squeeze and bend just enought to flop. Takes some learning but don't loose sleep over it. Just tape it.
 
Yeah you just wrap the part of the branch that broke so it can heal. If the break happens in a Y like your pic then just wrap both branches together do the weight of the branches don't keep tearing them apart
 
The idea is to turn the tops horizontal, not straighten them back up. So long as they are not totally separated, tape it up and let it go. Scary the first time you do it, have confidence and patience.
 
The plant broke in a lower Y where the main branch turns into two. Needs to super crop the tops, like you said, not the hard and sturdy lower branches, when those break and not heal properly everything above can die if water is not going up the stem

yeah that was an accident. I've zip tied and taped it together. I'm really hoping it doesn't die
 
I'm a fan of sports tape. I don't know what to call it exactly but it comes off easily and is perforated. The perforation is good for breathing and whatever holy water you might use for repair.
Lose the zip tie. It will cut into your plant as it grows.
 
Wrap it tight in tape. I use blue painter's tape, I've done it also. They are hardy plants. It most likely will survive this.

Good to know. All I had on me was zipties ill pick up some masking tape and toothpicks for splints and I believe I have some athletic tape
 
I had a bit of a twisting wind storm (pic 1) I stood her back up with some crutches treated the wounds with aloe and heres what she looks like this hot morn. Our girls are really tough.

OK that's good to know. I wasn't sure how delicate cannabis is
 
I break stems every grow, just tape them up and leave them be for a bit, they’ll be just fine as long as it’s not a clean break. Some masking or grafting tape should be part of your growing supplies
 
This one is for you Atriax. Strange how you ask a question and the universe provides an example. I just harvested this plant and rediscovered damage and recovery from when this plant was being manifolded and a branch broke severely. Like hanging on by a thread bad. I taped it up and let it go. It grew into 3 nice colas.

Inside the circle is the break that healed and grew out the colas, the lines down and to the side are the branches, and the line up is a branch from before the break.

Here are the branches that grew out from the healed break. The two large in the lower, the small in the center, and the small going to the right.

Just goes to show how well they can heal themselves. Never give up on it for a stem break.
