trichromes when and how

i was wondering how do you check your trichs
by how i don't mean with what i mean how
its nearly impossible to check them on the plant with illuminated microscope
do you snip off a little piece of the bud or pluck a smaller bud ??

by the way im using a illuminated microscope

help!
 
Jewellers loupe - at least 40x - just gotta get your eyes close enough to look. I have the luxury of taking my plants out of the tent to water in the kitchen sink, then I check the trichomes..
 
I either just smooch the scope into the bud,or snip off a piece the size of a pencil eraser and get it out where I can put it on a paper plate and zero in on it.
 
This sounds like the most easiest way especially if you get the handheld microscope 60x-120x, I use a 30x and60x loupe and the microscope
 
I cut a small piece off so I can get a good look. I can’t seem to be able to hold still enough to get a great view on the plant

and its hard to hold it steady
i dont think it will hurt the bud to snip a tiny piece
 
I use the same one. Great for the money, you can set up your phone and get some good pics of trichs up close
 
I use this same model and it took me a bit to get used to the fact that it doesn't behave like a jewelers loupe. When you move it, it's opposite of what you think is happening. Moving to the left actually changes visibility to the right. It took me a few tries to finally figure that out and now I can navigate objects much easier. It may have said that in the instructions, but I didn't notice if it did.
 
Ya it’s hard to get used to that. I still move the wrong way the first time lol (I didn’t read the instructions lol)
 
yes mine works quite good i found if i put a small clip of bud on a piece of white paper i can see everything
 
Yup, that’s what I do. I set up a couple books to the right height and rest my phone on them right over it and can actually get decent pics too!
