Trichomes starting to turn milky

I'm having a hard time getting really good pics for you all to see. Most of our bigger top colas are finally starting to get some milky trichomes, but there are still a lot of white hairs mixed in with the amber ones. Here are some pics of ones that are getting closer. We will definitely be harvesting in batches. Smaller buds lower of plants are probably two weeks behind larger ones at top.

I am grateful for all opinions!

I have read different opinions. I like more of a head high so I let the trichomes on my last grow (AK-48) show about 20% amber and was pleased with results. I know different strains look different at harvest time but I had almost no white pistils on buds when I harvested.

Thanks for compliments. Yes, I agree there are still too many white pistils. But I am excited to finally see some milky trichomes. Plants are starting week 7 of flower stage.

Such fabulous looking buds! Always in awe at how pretty cannabis can look, especially buds! 🌱

If you're only in week 7, you still have a couple of weeks to go. I don't know of any weed that finishes sooner then 8 weeks. But now is the time to decide if you want head high weed or the kind that leans more towards couch lock. More clear head high, more milky couch lock. Personally I like 80/20 with just a few amber trichs.

Kingfish, boy it sure is a tough decision to make during one's first grow. My husband is going to be the main end user. I'm more of a edibles kind of gal. I know if you harvest too soon more likely to be harsh and can cause the paranoia, etc. He is a 35 year user though and has been exposed to most everything out there, the good, the bad and the ugly. haha I know he is hoping to convert me into a more substantial user. I told him to get the dang vaporizer and we'll see. He's old school and loves to show off his joint rolling skills. HA

There is a lot to be said for a big fat Doobie. I can't even remember the last time I used a Roach Clip.

Man I can roll a f'n killer joint.

Surprised that alot of my buddies can not

Whenever he get's together with his family, about once a year because they are spread up and down the east coast, he is the designated joint roller. He had me try a pipe a few nights again, and I coughed my head off and thought my throat was on fire. I guess there is a learned finesse to the different smoking techniques.
