Trellis Per Plant vs. Full Tent Discussion

So for my last crop I used a basic net trellis that netted across my full 5 x 5 grow tent but the problem I found was, because of the area, my girls still wanted to move and bend/lean towards the light and around each other. I'm using a HID to specs of the tent size.

My set up this crop is still my 5 x 5 tent, 8 plants topped well but not super-cropped. I'm looking into trellising them 'per plant' with individual pot trellis supports (like tomato cages) instead of the netting. With the netting last crop, I affixed it to the poles of the tent, but then once in place I could no longer move the plants, either rotational or overall position in the tent. I found this having an impact on production of the individual plants and felt I could have had a much better crop had I been able to move around the plants during flowering to get a more balanced grow.

So my question/curiosity to the group here is insight on what kind of individual pot type trellising I could implement to help this. As my previous set up also didn't allow for any type of flushing I intend to implement for this grow. So what type of individual pot type trellis could anyone recommend they've found helpful; or is straight up tomato cages the way to go? My final pot size is 5 gallon.
 
Individual plant training, my preference. Whether it's trellis or just securing to the pot, it allows you to better inspect leaves and gives you the option to rearrange your grow if you need too. I tried scrog twice. Not impressed.
 
OlderNOTwiser Those things cost a freakin arm and a leg on Amazon. If you search online for them, you'll find them way cheaper. I didn't keep my online receipt (like a stoner dummy), so I can't tell you where I got mine. If I find it, I'll let you know. It took some looking.
 
I've poked bamboo canes into my soil and then lashed cross pieces together with string and the rubberized plant training wire.

I'm trying to stay away from bamboo.. too many avenues of contamination. Not only that, but I can't use them crop after crop because of the way bamboo pulls/holds water.
 
If you go to a farm and home store you can buy fiberglass rods for electric fence posts. Those wont hold contamination and will last a life time. I have a couple fiberglass arrows i use like this.
 
I grow in a 2'x3' rectangle. The best way to maximize my space was to buy a couple cooling racks I got at the $.99 store and doing a SCROG. My plants come in and out, during the day, to catch my south sun. The individual screens allow me to move them around easily. I also have access to every bud and lots of circulation. A round trellise would lose me space.
It's my first SCROG and I think, with a little modification to the screens, this will be the way I go.

Yea I'm looking at doing the plastic coated flexible metal steaks that I can just zip tie my netting to.
 
Interesting.. I haven't done SCROG yet, but my impression was that you couldn't move them around once you set up the blocking screens.
 
In larger setups, people with stationary plants will make a grid using the structure of the space. Maybe using tent poles. I might have seen a vertically adjustable screen. Different methods for different setups.
Were mine stationary, in that small space, I would have a doozy of a time doing any sort of training and trimming. 95% of my colas, big and small, are above the screen. When harvest time comes it'll be a snap.
