You folks make it look easy, however when I tried to train using 14 AWG wire....my wire would simply pull out of the coco/perlite from the force of the plant turning back towards the light. I punted and took the easy way out and ordered some 8" garden staples. Using the staples I am able to anchor them into the coco, then using coated wire, gradually pull the branch down.

Anyway if anybody else is running into this problem, this may help you too.

I use a tomato cage, just one hoop cut from the stack. Put this in the pot and tie your wires to the ring. Even these get pulled out so anchor them to the tops of the pots with wire.

I like this idea, I may try a variation of it by trying to secure it to the fiber bag using heavy duty paper clips.

I use 12 ga wire and put a 1/2" V shaped hook on the end. They don't pull out then.
