Topping/cloning

I'm giving 8 plants their first haircuts today. They are 6 and 7 nodes tall. I am also wanting to clone them. Should I wait to clone until I can take lower branches like I have seen in most instructions on cloning or can I clip a whole node and just clone the tops. I have never cloned before but I have all the stuff to do it. Any comments are appreciated as always.

Canuck147 said it best... only works if you try...gotta be in it to win it, no time like the present, nothing ventured nothing gained....go for it!

I actually just did this. Topped one girl and am doing a clone with it. Just did it a few days ago so no roots yet, also using the cup with water method not a tray and dome.

Here's the post I was looking for. The cloned topping is growing great. Just thought I'd update with a picture next to another plant for size reference.

It's my standard practice when running a pheno hunt.
I will let the plant get to 6-7 nodes, top at the 4th, flip, and then use that cutting for a clone.
