Topping before flower

Ive been wondering for last 3 weeks would this produce bigger tops. What if you top just before it stops growing. You would get more bud sites at top since it wont be 1 main but 2. So when buds start to form will buds from both stems come together and fuze?

Ofcourse timing would be crucial since I topped to soon and tops started to grow high

I topped while I had few white pistils on every site. Still plant grows

Might take a while to heal but should be fine
