Top or lollipop auto flower

I just harvested three Santa Marta Haze AF's from my veggie garden. The left and right plants were topped. The center one wasn't. Pictorial evidence that you can top AF's. The right and left topped plants have lots more bud!

My entire thing about not topping autos is the loss of however many branches would have grown.
Maybe I'm missing it. Why would you top autos? What do you mean 'more bud'? Fatter colas? More bud sites?

IMO, topping AF's = higher yields.

I topped my last auto, it stunted the growth considerably. Maxed-out at about 12" top to bottom when it should have been about 3ft. Produced some thick buds though.
If i'd read he spiel from the seed co. it did say 'don't top this strain'. Didn't see that until after i'd done it.
