oldjarhead100 has suggested some kind of camping meet and greet in CO. Instead I suggest a hotel in the mountains. Entirely affordable, and rustic and very close to a number of natural and unnatural wonders.

Pricey for CO. I've stayed a few times during promotional specials. I am just cheap.

Known to some people but not to all that the famous "Blood Elevator" was inspired by the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite NP and not the Stanley Hotel in Colorado.
