Tips for temperate climate for a beginner

im just starting to grow with a mix of 3 60w cfls at night and natural sunlight during the day. My medium is soil using general hydroponics mix in distilled water. Since I’m in a South American country, I figured that using the warm to hot climate would be to my advantage. I’m starting with Strawberry Cough from Dutch Passions.

Any tips on growing in this area?

As long as it is in the sun, have your plant on the windy side.
