Hey Friends, I'm about to flip the switch for the first time. Any advice would be appreciated. Organic soil and Earth Dust. Just shy of 8 weeks in veg.
I have read, that giving a dark period 24, 36 or 48h before the switch, sort of speeds up the flowering hormones. It's supposed to knock some time off between the veg-flower transition.
I started my Earth Dust in early-mid Aug. It'd been cooking for about a month before I transplanted into it. I topped dressed it for the week before flower. Well, I'm almost 2 weeks past schedule. I guess I'm just nervous about it having enough nutrients until the next top dress, 30 days into flower.
So, I'll hopefully I can flip the lights today or tomorrow. Last night I defoliated the big fan leaves, gave every branch a light supercrop, and loosened the ties. I also gave it a heavy water with coconut water and aloe. 12 hours later...
Hasn't been a problem for me, this is mine at the end of 6th week of flower. I made em a little tea from the boost and gave it to them this morning Wednesday is 7 weeks and all my trichomes are cloudy just waiting for the last bit of fat (I'm still seeing growth) and some ambers
This is my 1st try with earth dust and I'm happy with it I've taken a few little wirey buds from around the bottom (about the size of your thumb from 1st knuckle) and my son said it is as good as my last batch but has a richer flavor and I just dried it no cure because it was just random cuts you know the ones that start looking down at the floor once they get any weight. Of course we'll have to see what others say once I'm done sometimes I think my kids just tell me what I want to hear even though I tell them not to. I don't smoke anymore so can't judge myself plus I wouldn't trust me either lol
