Tincture making

I have done the 90 and 30 day alcohol soak methods and they have worked well. Because of muscle and nerve damage in my arms I have not and will not try the quick wash method. A thought occurred to me about another possible way and before delving into it myself and spending the money, I wanted to query the forum to ask if anyone has tried this and if it was successful. To wit: I wonder if a Mason jar with Everclear and decarded herb placed on a rotating rock tumbler would give a satisfactory quick wash tincture.

Has anyone here tried that?
 
That will work fine provided the tumbler won't break the jar. I do a 10 minute wash, followed by two 5 minute washes. One 20 minute would work if you don't want to do multiple washes. You might loose some yield, but ya gotta do what ya can. Also when I extract it just sits in the freezer with a 10 second shake every 2-3 minutes. Imo there is not a reason to let it soak longer, yet when time increases, more undesirable fractions such as chlorophyll will be carried over to the final product. Hope this helps.
 
My 30 day product seemed as effective as the 90 day and it is still gross tasting, but not as bad as the 90 day. I filtered thru coffee filters to catch the plant matter. I will haunt garage sales this spring to see if I can find one on the cheap. My arms can't take much force anymore so the shake shake shake is out. Whoever said hard work never hurt anyone? A lifetime of hard labor wears on the body.

I have not tried freezing it. That makes sense and is good advice. Thank you. If I can find a tumbler for cheap I will try the freezer first then let it roll.
 
Not about your rock tumbler, but about your product washing.
I am making resin from 220 kief dissolved in ethanol. 220 kief is what I call the product that comes from ice water extraction in a 220 micron bag. It is not good stuff, as far as being used for making quality hash. There is still a good bit of plant matter mixed in with the trichomes.
The ethanol is dewaxed and filtered through a Buchner funnel after being winterized in dry ice. If you are unfamiliar, winterizing is the process of congealing all the lipids that are stripped from your weed when washing in ethanol/alcohol. This process creates, basically, a tincture I evaporate to get my resin.
Relating to your nasty tasting tincture. If I don't winterize, my resin tastes and smells like burned, fried chicken buttholes. Winterizing gets rid of the buttholes.
We can swap mobility issues later. But I have to say it is easier to make my 220 kief and do all the other busy work than it is to trim and prepare the bud for processing.
A little extra. If all else fails, look into canna caps. No nasty taste.
 
I followed GWE instructions and boiled off some tincture into hash oil and made gummies with it. Very effective and not too much extra work. Tasty too. I do have some decarbed finely ground herb that I could put into caps. I don't have any caps, but I can check into sources.
 
I have used the machine once or twice , it costs a couple bucks but is basically no work to make oil. Just put in the ingredients and the machine makes oil. If you know the THC % of the weed you can even calculate the oil potency
