Time to transplant?

Greetings, my question is about when is it time to transplant to a larger container? My plant has been in a 1 gal pot for 1 1/2 weeks. Planing to transplant to a 2 gal container by the second week mark. Thoughts? Two sets of the leaves are reaching over the rim of the pot whereas the other two sets of the cross section aren’t branching over. Also am thinking it’d be easier to transplant with slightly more roots to hold everything together. Note: the picture included is three days late so it is slightly larger in the center. Thanks! ✌️

I waited until I topped and had things tied down for a little while. I use the 1 gal to start as well and then go to 2. But yeah I'd say you can wait a couple weeks still.

Update: I can now see the roots at the bottom through the drain holes. After 9 days of being in the 1 gal pot, I’m Planning to transplant by the second week mark (2/18). I feel like waiting an additional 2 weeks (4total) would risk a serious case of root bounding? Thanks
