Added a couple of snorkels to the tent. My room is getting a bit chilly with the change in winter weather. I had been using the bottom vents of the tent for airflow, but the cold air along the floor was getting too cold for my comfort level. Adding the snorkels allows me to draw the slightly warmer air from the upper volume of the room space. Using an infrared thermometer, the air temp near the ceiling is 5-6C warmer than the air at floor level.
I’m going to run it this way for a few days to see if it helps maintain my lights on temps where i like them. The room is a 14’x24’ space with 9’ walls built with 2x4 construction. Although insulated, i currently only have a 1500watt heater in there which doesn’t move the air in the room very much, so all the heated air doesn’t get well mixed with the cooler lower air.
you can see the 2 snorkels in the pics below. In pic 1, you can see where my exhaust fan comes out the back, right top of the tent. Notice there is actually 2 ducts there, with the sharply curved duct attached to the fan. The other duct had to be retired due to blowing giant plumes of fog out into the cold winter air for all the world to see. Nothing scream “GROW OP†like seeing fog spew out of a shed every 5 minutes. 😂 New duct vents into my yard....hopefully out of sight from the world.
